Silly Bands knock offs at Walgreens

We were at Walgreens this morning and were very excited to see they had TONS of silly bands knock offs (called "bandz") ... they had a princess pack (which we bought), a sports pack (dd chose for ds), and also angels and traffic and a few others I forget now. The kind of odd thing is that a lot of them were fruit scented? (oh, one other was fruit shaped lol!)

The princess and sports do NOT smell. And they are actually bigger than Silly Bands! I can wear silly bands but they're not at all floppy (actually they are borderline cutting into my wrist lol!) But these ones actually are kind of bumpy still while on my wrist.

They are $1.99 for a pack of 12. I *think* we paid $4.99 for 24 Silly Bands at Toys R Us? Not 100% sure because dh was at the store not me.

All hail Bandz! (LOL!)

We discovered the ones at Walgreens the other for my sister... We were just excited to find somthing actually in stock...(i really don't get the excitement over rubber bands but )

We bought 4 packs and my DD was really upset with them. Some of the shapes are not shaped well, difficult to tell what it is.

Lisa - My dd thought ds's tennis racquet was a magnifying glass, but I can see that mistake LOL! The 2 packs we got it was easy to tell what was what. The only one that took me a minute was the white castle. But some other ones that DS has brought home I would think was one thing and he'd go no ma it's something else LOL!

Yep, the $4.99 are the real original ones.

Walgreens had theirs 2 for $4.00

they had fakes at Target today... right at the register. I did not look at the name... long enough to remember it... I just glanced and saw they were not silly bandz.

Would somebody post a picture of what the real silly bandz package looks like? I went to look the other day, my walgreens had 3 different kinds, none actually said "silly bandz" on them. The guy swore that the ones that just said "bandz" were the real ones, but I'd like to see a picture of the package so I know for sure.

Wow thanks! All 3 my walgreens have are knockoffs! The guy who was helping me swore the ones in the plastic bubble type package were real. Good thing I didn't quite believe him.

We picked up some today too, they were 5.99 for 24 and they are Disney Bandz. They had basic characters in one pack, Toy Story characters in another and a few other general kind like band instruments, dinosaurs...etc but they were cheaper than the Disney line. The Disney pack has Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Minnie, Daisy and Goofy in red, blue yellow and pink. They are still kind of bumpy on the wrist, not really round like a bracelet.....but we don't own Silly Bandz so my girls thought these were cool (for about 2 seconds LOL). Oh well....I just put them back in the package after showing them to the girls and maybe I'll just toss them in the gift closet.

There is a second Disney/Pixar Toy Story 3 package that contains Rex, Hamm, Slinky, Mr. Potato Head, and the Little Green Alien. The package says Character Bandz and says that it is Series 2.

I found knock offs hanging on a rack in the toy department of my Walmart for $1 for 12.

The knockoffs break much easier than the Silly Bandz. Silly Bandz are better IMO!

Actually, just so everyone knows, Sillybandz themselves are knock-off's. The original bands were shaped rubber bands which were introduced a few years ago for office use. It's only in the past few months that someone figured out they could be used as bracelets.

Also, did you know there is no patent on these things so anyone can make and sell them??

mine could care less who the manufactor is- so I do buy them at walgreens or anywhere else for that matter..

Yeah, mine don't care who makes them either!! Although they BOTH want disney ones, and since you know you won't be finding any knock off mickey bandz, we'll have to go 'brand' for those LOL!

And pp who said the knock offs rip easier than the Silly Bandz, I beg to differ... the ones we got at Walgreens are MUCH stronger, and also a bit bigger! But this is the only knock off brand I've had experience with so maybe there are cheaper ones out there...

Aaah if only kids would be interested in such cheap stuff forever huh? Such big happiness in a $2 package!!

Just today in a Modell's in PA, I saw AT LEAST 3 different WDW-themed Silly Bandz (the real deal). There were Toy Story 3, Fairies/Princesses, general WDW with Mickey and crew. Of course, you'll have to shell out $5.99/box.

I got the kids some of the knock off's, and they didn't know the difference. Was okay by me for $1.99 per pack.
