Silent Disco?

This is something I've heard mentioned in trip reports that has me curious.
I know what they are in theory - but how does Disney do this? Do they provide the earphones?

When we did this in December there was someone handing out earphones at the entrance of the venue, there was a switch on the earphones for volume and switching stations (I think there were 4). They played a song while everyone was coming in and the host then did an introduction and explained how to use the headphones to make sure everyone knew. Everyone did thing their own thing for a bit and then she kind of brought things together and did a dance battle with some dads, had some people show off dance moves, encouraged people to say hello to people listening to the same station, and taught everyone a dance move. There was a bin on the way out to drop used headphones in.

My husband and I both enjoyed it even though he was hesitant. We would probably do it again.

Yes, it is held in one of the nightclubs at 10:30 or so. You just show up and they hand out headphones. There are 3 different colors (songs) that you can switch to on the headphones. You just dance away to the song of your choosing. It is a hoot!! We just did it on the Fantasy last week. The Club Host usually gets people to interact and lead the group but mostly you are just dancing on your own. It is funny to watch from the sidelines as it is silent but you hear everyone singing out load to the music in their headphones.
