silent auction?

Just curious,what are some of the items that are auctioned off?
Are there alot of different price ranges so that kids can play too?

We saw alot of GREAT things durring our October cruise...But I would have to say that it is deffinatley not for children. Some things we saw being auctioned were:

Set of Arcade cards framed and matted
Set of Retired Cards framed and matted
A booster Seat signed by the Captain
Material they make the vests out of at Animators Palate
Plate from Animators Palate
A Map of where the ship saile (it has a formal name but I can't remember what it is)
Several signed Pictures of Characters but these are ART huge pictures all framed they are beautiful

All of the items are pricy I think the lowest starting bid was like 40-60 dollars and that was for the booster seat and material and dishes things like that. The Art type things were at least 250.00-300.00 starting bids.

All were wonderful and I would have loved to have a couple of things I saw but just couldn't bring myself to do it at the time....maybe next time!!!!!

I guess it's all in the eyes of the beholder. It was all overpriced junk to me
Actually, the minimum bids were WAY too high.

I got a really nice picture of the ship with WDW in clouds in the background for $75. I waited till the end and bought it for the minimum because no one else bid. The frame was a bit scuffed, but overall a very nice item that fits in nicely with the rest of my DCL decor.

Just a word of warning, take your item with you if you can. We bought a lithograph in the beginning of August, had to have it shipped home to California. Didn't receive it till October then it was the wrong item. Finally just got it replaced (received it on Saturday) and it is the right lithograph in a different frame. Took a long time to finally get a contact person with a direct phone number too. We regret not trying to take it with us, or at least taking it and shipping it ourselves. Must say though, when I finally did get a contact person she has been very nice and kept in close contact with us.

My DH bid on a framed picture of the Boatswain's Goofy on the Magic and Huey, Duey and Luey on the Wonder. It's now above our fireplace and quiet lovely I might add! I think it cost around $150 but we needed something for that spot anyway. You had to see us running through MCO with that thing when we were late for our plane pre-Hurricane!

Another item I liked was a life preserver that said Disney Wonder on it (I want to say it was $80). They did sell some nice framed Disney lithographs in the gift shop also, there was one I liked with Walt and all the characters but I believe it was around $300.

P.S. Many of the items on our August cruise had either no bids or one or two bids. We had never intended to buy anything, we just happened upon the items outside the WD Theatre and looked around, saw the picture and bid on it for fun. Lo and behold, we won!
