Signs of Spring!

Tulips starting to push up through the soil....

Kids who need their bike seats and handlebars adjusted because they grew over the winter!!!!


What are some signs of spring for you where you live?

The birds, I took the dog out this morning and all I could hear was the birds singing. I was a nice sound.

The tops of my tulips are several inches above the soil now! It's SO nice to see GREEN in the yard again

The smell of MUD is in the air - reminds my of my childhood and going outside to jumprope and play marbles! Here is Mass. the snow is almost all gone-finally!

On the way to church this morning, I saw crocuses.

And on Thursday I heard the first spring peepers.

Fresh-cut daffodils in my Spring flower vase. Oh....they smell soooooooo good! My daylilies are nearly a foot high already. My bearded irises are coming up, along with my many other Spring bulbs.

On thursday I saw a Robin. Around here that is the best sign of spring.

I have a whole line of crocuses in full bloom along the back of my house. Yellows, purple and white, they are so beautiful!

I also saw another Robin this morning. I saw my first one for this year on Feb. 18th.

Enjoy it while you can. It suppose to snow here tonight.

The hills near-by are so green!
That's a sure sign of Spring around here. We don't get much summer rain, so by the end of May the hills have turned brown again. Lots of trees blooming too.

I say: flower catalogs arriving, first robin sighting, and Friday I saw my tulips starting to come up.

Rita's Italian Ice stores opening always on the first day of spring free Rita's but they are getting ready to open early I guess due to warm weather some on 3/11

Oooo! I love this! It snowed two inches last night and is snowing now...I need spring!!

Here, besides Robins, we like to see the Killdeer back. And heard some red-winged black birds yesterday.

No grass here. Snow, snow, snow.

It's 60 degrees right now and supposed to be almost 70 tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it! I have a bouquet of daffodils hand picked from my yard on my dining table. My tulips are are about 6-7 inches high (no buds yet) and I can see some of the buds of my hyacinth starting to push up. I mowed my lawn for this first time since late October last week! My son is wearing shorts outside and running around! I LOVE SPRING! It's my absolute favorite season, with summer being a close second! I just love Spring cause it's exciting, fresh and so much to look forward to!

Listening to the frogs in the evening,

trees full of birds singing and flirting with each other,

green grass,

the smell of rain,

the way everything starts to look fresh and clean - even the sky seems bluer to me,

buds on the trees,

geese flying north,

seeing sandals and flip-flops and bare feet that don't look like they are freezing,

dogs that "ask" to go outside, just to sit and sniff the air instead of doing their thing and returning to the back door,

packing for a spring break trip - which reminds me. . .
