I was very surprised that the new planning video doesn't seem to have any mention of Spectromagic. All of the other nighttime events are specifically highlighted.

Think this means anything? Is Disney planning to get rid of Spectromagic? Perhaps this is Eisner's parting shot at us before us leaving?

I wondered the same thing!! :earseek: I thought it was very odd that they would leave out Spectro! It is such a huge not to be missed parade!

Things that make you go hummmmmm..... :scratchin

Is it possible a special nightime parade is in the works for the 50th?

I doubt it- they've already trumpeted everything else involved, and there's no way they would keep such a thing secret.

They are probably going to come out with a new one soon. How long has SpectroMagic been around? Anyone know?

as usual, uninformed speculation runs rampant. Spectro and the Electric Light Parade have alternated back and forth for years. So, either a 50th parade is in the works, or once again its time for ELP. :smooth:

And that's "informed speculation?" You don't know any better than any of us what they might or might not do.

Thank you for posting because the "informed speculation" post confused me and what's with :rotfl2: ?

I wouldnt sweat it. There's several things missing from the video.

I dont think they're replacing it with anything as that would have been announced by now.

I seriously doubt they'll scrap the night time shows as it is a big pull at night.

I think the reason they didnt list it was possibly because it doesnt run nightly

Maybe it does now but it didnt use to and maybe they dont want to promote something that may not run nightly now or in the future.

Also do you all remember this: FITS didnt' run every single night like Wishes does?

Spectro has been back at WDW since April 1st 2001 and ELP closed at WDW March 31 2001 (I worked parade route both nights its was kinda emotional for me for some reason those nights thats why I remember it so well)

I dont personally think that that is long enough duration for them to switch them around again... however until the 50th starts you never truly know what will and what wont happen... how far in adance did we know about new day parades? (seriously I dont remember when we found out about when new parades start wasnt trying to be a wise guy)

I think they were announced several months in advance, as prep for the Celebration of Walt's birthday.

I know when I took my aunt down in 1991, we saw Spectromagic (I think it was Spectromagic) for the first time.. so I know at least 14 years. But then the 60's was really good to me?@?@?@?@?@?@? :confused3

I wouldn't assume that means anything. They can't get everything into a video.

That would make my vacation if they had the Electric Light Parade while we were there.

i couldnt agree with this more. seeing the electric light parade again would definitly make my next trip great. to re-live something that so impressed me when i made my first trip to WDW would be great. after seeing ELP i would have to then go to COP and the onto TTA so i could complete the nostalgia circuit.

True, they can't put everything on a video, but I sure learned a lot about WDW benches.

:rotfl2: Yes, those are a much bigger attraction than Spectromagic, I must agree.

Plus, they have them in EVERY PARK! Spectro is only in 1. Hardly worth mentioning at all.
