I'm so excited. I finally signed up for Owner's Locker. We have 2 trips scheduled for later this year but I've been thinking about OL for a few months and decided to go ahead with it. I've already started a box with a few items I need to take. I think I'll hit one of the dollar stores on the way home and look for some stuff. If anyone has any "make sure you don't forget"s, please pass them my way. TIA

So, what do you do now... ship the items down to them or do you take them with you and fill the container down there?

Congratulations you will love it! The service is so convenient !

When deciding what to leave down there I just tried to think of all the items that are a severe pain in the neck to pack. What are you always having to save room for and wish you didn't?

Don't worry you will come up with plenty!

congrats I just shipped my box of OL stuff for our trip next week

The plan is to send a box down to our resort before we get there but I think I'll try and figure out how much that will cost and see if it would be cheaper to take it on the plane with us. I assume it would cost the same to put a box on a plane as it would be to take another suitcase. Anyone know?

As long as it doesn't weigh over 50 pounds or exceed the maximum size (length + width + height), then it won't cost more than a suitcase.

The title pretty much says it all. I haven't heard of this could someone explain how it works and the cost. Thanx

It's a storage service for people with timeshares. Here's the link to their website:

While I can understand it might be a great idea for people who are there more than once per year, I'm not sure it is worth it for people like us who take only 1 trip per year. It's $75 to sign up and at least $99 per year.

Not sure if it's good for VB owners.

You will love your Owners Locker!!
We just got one on our Jan. trip and I shipped a big box down with stuff for our locker. It cost me about $15 to ship it UPS ground with tracking.

I can't tell you how much I love that locker! So much so that I am adding a second one!:thumbsup2 I will be able to travel with carryons only!

I have everything in my locker like a nice cozy fleece blanket, flip flops and bathing suits and more. Basically what I plan to do is have one OL for my toiletries, pins, toys for the kids, shoes like Crocs and flip flops and then one OL for blankets, sheets, bathing suits, pj's, underware, etc....

The OL are pretty big but we really had to force ours shut when we left!LOL

Here is a list of the things I fit in one locker:

Ziplock bags
Underware
Tweezer
Tote Bag
Toothpaste
Tooth Paste(kids)
Tooth Brushes
Tissues
Swim Vest
Sunscreen
Straws
Soap

I packed a suitcase with all of our owners lockers stuff and took it down with us. There are 6 of us so I didn't have to worry about extra bag fees, and my husband has silver elite status so he gets extra bags for free. I then used the empty bag for dirty laundry and our purchases.

For the VB owners, If you are coming through Orlando by air I have heard John will make arrangements for getting your locker to you. We are going to Vero at the beginning of our trip and I am having it delivered to the Residence Inn at the Airport. We will be staying there the day we arrive, before we head to Vero.

If you have any questions, just email Owner's Locker. They are very flexible and try their utmost to work things out.

I can't say enough good things about this service. I was the one who wanted it....convinced my skeptical husband...now he is a full convert and I can see us getting a second one. We are trying to see if we can someday travel with just carryons!

As we fly with Southwest and can still check two bags, the service doesn't really save us money but the convenience factor is definitely worth it !

With the new fees that the resorts are charging for receiving packages, I was wondering if you get charged by the resort for receiving for OL, too?

we only go once a year and have 2 we consider it well worth it

be sure to make a list of what you pack in it and save the list - I thought I would remember and now don't! It will be like Christmas when I get there....

No, the Owners Locker is delivered directly to Bell Services and you are not charged. I was there two weeks ago and I wasn't charged.

I wanted to add that we have never been charged for any package we have had delivered to any resort. We were just there in Jan at AKV and no charge for our 2 large boxes. I believe the resorts that charge a package fee are the convention hotels.

As mentioned the owners lockers are delivered straight to bell services so no package fee even if you were at a convention hotel.

Apparently this is new. We haven't shipped since this has begun. We shall see. We do usually stay at BWV.

I think we will be shipping a box to ourselves for our June trip to the AKV. I will post to let everyone know if I get charged.

I just read a thread where someone shipped the case of costco water and the resort charged $10 to accept it.

We usually ship to ourselves too. If these prices are that high, then we might need to consider owner's locker.
