We will be on the wonder in a couple weeks. My dd - 4 likes the characters, but doesnt like to go near them, so pictures with them is probably out. I would like to be able to get something signed for her and other dd - 1, though. I had read somewhere on here that if you bring a pillowcase to the front desk or something, they will have all the characters sign it. Do they still do this? How does this work? and would they possibly do it with a Disney hat instead? Do you need to bring your own marker? Thanks in advance.

We did this on our April cruise. We dropped off two pillowcases with the fabric markers at the Guest Service desk. They delivered the cases to our room on the last night of our cruise. There were a ton of autographs on it! It was a great souvenir for my two dds! By the way, we had a picture of each girl wearing their Minney Mouse costumes put on the pillowcases before the cruise so the autographs were placed around the pictures. Very cute!

I brought "Sharpie" permant markers - and put one in each large ziploc bag with our name and room number on it - along with a T-shirt we bought on the ship -- Donald's "Burnt Duck" -- You just drop them off at the desk and return (I think the next day) and they return all to you - with the signatures on the back -- Mickey/Minnie/Pluto/Goofy/Chip n Dale, and Donald signed the front by his picture - both of my boys (13 & 8 )still wear them - !! even at the same time!!

Wow! This is our DS5!!!! At the Poly last year, he loved to watch the characters but would not approach them. I was amazed at how they recognized him, and his shy personality. They each approached him individually for a wave and little game of peek-a-boo. . . . .nothing more than that.

I will add a pillow and markers to my list for Jan 25th. This will be a great treat for him!

I love this idea... my DD - 7 will go up to the characters... but I think this is a wonderful extra...

She will turn 8 one week after we get back from our cruise... maybe I could do a special gift for her birthday and get the characters to each sign a birthday wish... ;) :sunny:

:sunny: She celebrated her 6th birthday at WDW... it was Magical!!!

We purchased the 'My First Disney Cruise' tshirt on the ship for DD and had the character sign it. I dropped it off at guest services and was able to pick it up the next day around noon. It turned out to be a great souvenier.

Don't forget to heat set in the dryer or with an iron before washing!!!!

Do we need to supply the pen? If so, do I just use the Sharpie Permanent Markers?

Thanks for the heat setting tip SCMinnie... that would be awful to ruin such a wonderful momento!!!

We were on the 07/25 Wonder and I did this for our "group" (4 kids - 3 families). I put the kids picture on the pillowcase and a Disney theme picture. The pillowcase is adorable. Mickey even wrote "To *child's name*" on the pillowcase. I put a marker in each ziploc bag.

I will tell you that the lady at guest services kind of "pursed her lips" when I dropped them off and asked for the signatures. Her first comment was "Do you want one character to sign?" and I said no, I would like as many as possible. She was very hesitant. I told her I had read on a message board we could do this and I was in no hurry to get them back. She looked at me like I asked her to cut off her right arm. ANYWAY, I picked them up at the desk on Saturday of our cruise (3 day - so 2 days later) not sure if I would be lucky enough to have them done or not. Luckily they were signed and are GORGEOUS. In fact, I am thinking of having it framed!

I sure hope they don't mind when we ask in February!!!

These boards sure are great for us... but sometime those wonderful secrets... just don't stay secrets for long!!!;)

Could you tell me who can apply photos to a pillowcase? I don't think Walmart does this. I would love to have an autographed pillowcase for my 2 little princesses (4 & 2) to surprise them with!

We have a place in the mall here that will but a photo on just about anything. They even put a photo of DD on a mouse pad for Dh for Fathers Day.

Call around to places the do screen printing etc. If they don't do it they may be able to refer you to someone.

Also if you can scan the pictures in your computer you can print it out on special paper that will allow you to transfer the image.

Good Luck!

I used the special paper for printers that prints onto an iron on transfer paper.

I had two different kinds - on package of HP paper and one from a craft store. I liked the HP paper better. I am all for bargains, etc, but sometimes you get better results from the name brand.

Hey guys!
we just did this on our 7/27 Eastern Cruise. It is so neat. I went to Kmart and bought a light purple disney pillow case, (plain except for a boarder of characters on it) for my daughter she is 8. I also got a light blue one for my 4 year old son. I washed them first so the ink would do better, then placed them in a large ziplock bag together.
I took it to Guest Services the first afternoon. They asked for your kids names and which one is for which. You don't have to bring a permenant marker, they never opened the one I sent. It took till Tuesday morning to get them back. They get everything from socks to sheet sets, even blankets. So it takes awhile.
It was a nice surprise for my kids. They are using them now. We even got the Captain to sign them.
Great way to keep the memories.
All the Characters names are on the pillow cases that are on board the Magic.

Anne:)

Thanks everyone for your help. Since I will be doing all the packing for the family, I'll have my husband pitch in and scan the photos of the girls in their princess costumes. If he doesn't come through, I will definitely buy the princess pillowcase at Kmart. The girls will be thrilled!

Make sure whatever you take to be signed is either a no name or Disney brand. If it has even the littlest of markings of another company they will not sign it.

Very good to know--thanks.

Two quick ideas.........

DH found a poster of all the princesses and we had them signed on our last trip to WDW. Each princess signed on her picture! We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and they were great about it! I am now looking for a poster of the ship or the main characters to take on our next cruise....... what a great wall arrangement!!..... ** Bring a mailing tube to pack it in if you plan to frame !

On our first cruise we were given signed Magic t-shirts as an apology for some shortcoming....... The t-shirts will become large TV pillows for my 2 DDs(as soon as "spilling" is not a daily event) ........ While asking about the best way to do this I was given these tips............
cold hand wash; lie flat to dry: heat set with iron and pressing cloth- no steam; spray with scotch guard; use shirt shaped pillow form(use your shirt to get the size right) to fill the prepared t-shirts. I assume the same steps could be used on a pillow case to preserve it.

I am sure all you other Disney nuts won't think this too much to go through for such a special keepsake!!!

We were on the July 21 Magic. I had read about this before we left but couldn't find any pillow cases light enough in color for signatures. I purchased the plain DCL t-shirt, took it to guest services and asked that it be signed. The woman was very nice and said it would be ready the next day. I did not leave a marker. The t-shirt is so great - I can't stand the thought of my ds (4.5 yrs old) wearing it so I framed it. It fit great in a 22x28 poster frame. It's now on his bedroom wall for him to enjoy for years.

Before I framed it I had the signatures copied and used them in the scrapbook!

Does anyone have a photo of their signed tshirt/pillowcase that they can post somewhere. I'd love to see what these look like!:Pinkbounc
