If I am on the DP, are there any restrictions on menu items that I cannot order? For example, can I order the lobster at Narcossees?

Yup you can get anything on the menu. It is just 2credits to get in. You also get an appetizer and dessert at signatures.

You only get the appetizer on the deluxe dining plan, not the basic.

I jsut looked it up and you are right. Did this change since last year because we went to CRT and we got appetizers.

CRT is different because it is a fixed price meal; all 3 courses are included there regardless of how you're paying.

The lobster is not an appetizer so you can get that as your entree on the regular DP.
