Signature Dress Code

We have an 11 night trip upcoming and have a number of signature dining reservations. The question i have is for the restaurants in the parks. For us, this includes Hollywood Brown Derby, CRT, and La Cellier. Since they are inside the parks, i wanted to know if they are strict on the dress codes? I am not talking about showing up nasty and sweaty....etc, but rather showing up in shorts/t-shirt/sandals (AKA park clothes). FWIW our party is myself, wife, and 2 DD (8&10).

For our other signatures, they are at the GF, or CR. For those we will be coming fresh from our room dressed to impress.

Am I overthinking this since the trip is only 20 days away?

You should be fine in park clothes - we saw people dressed very casually at Le Cellier, Brown Derby, and Tiffins. We dressed up for our resort signature meals but just wore our regular park clothes (sundress and sandals for me, nice shorts and short sleeved button up for my husband) and were certainly not underdressed compared to other diners.

The dress code isn't strict to begin with. What it says is: "Not permitted in dining room: tank tops, swimsuits or swimsuit coverups, hats for gentlemen, cutoffs, torn clothing of any kind or T-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics."

Shorts, t-shirts that aren't offensive, and sandals are perfectly fine.

We once saw a woman dressed in cut-offs jeans, a cropped tank top and Viking face paint check in to Monsieur Paul . . .

I think V&A is the only restaurant that strictly enforces a dress code!

i think there is a "letter of the law" and "spirit of the law" model. Basically have some class, but you wont be turned away.

Except for V and A's which is too expensive for any of us to eat at any way

You are completely overthinking it.
Very very few restaurants have a dress code.
Its normal to eat in park attire and honestly would be a bit weird if you were dressed to impress in the parks.
Not only do I wear shorts, t-shirt, yoga pants, sweatshirts, sneakers.... to signatures especially when in the parks but um if its August and 95*F with the heat index being 105*F you can bet your butt I'm also sweaty and nasty walking into that ADR and I have done so to a number of QS, TS, and signatures.
This isn't formal night on a cruise, its a theme park.

We recently had dinner at California Grill. Next to us was a dad and his daughter (around 8 years old). They were enjoying special daddy/daughter time and were definitely dressed for the parks. They were headed over to MK in shorts and tshirts and thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. I'm sure they had a magical evening at MK!!

We tend to dress up a bit if not going to the park (or straight from park to restaurant), maybe something like khakis and a polo for me and our sons and a dress for wife and daughter. But that's really the exception--most people are in park attire.

This is not true. None of the resort signatures prohibit jeans (except V&A)

You're right. I had to dig it up, but here it is from MDE:

"Men must wear khakis, slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition. Sport coats are optional.

Women must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition."

For in park Signature dining, we wear what we wore in the park. You will see a few dressed up, but most are in park attire.
When we go to a resort based Signature Restaurant, we normally go back to the room, freshen up and put on better clothes. You will still see from park attire to very dressy at the resort Signatures, but most are in "business casual" attire.

I have a few racer back tanks to wear to the park. Does this mean they won't seat us for our reservations? I have a PPO for BOG and had planned on wearing a custom made tank that day.

PPO for BOG is breakfast, which is quick service.

Uh...yeah...that's why we spend a billion dollars a night at a Deluxe. It was an awesome night the year we went but wow, expensive.

Signature dining in the parks, the dress code is park attire. They don't expect you to dress up for those. The signature dining at resorts, they seem to follow the dress code closer and the no tanks is generally enforced.

The meal described in the post you quoted isn’t a signature meal (it’s quick service), so no dress code rules apply there.
