Has anyone ever carried their toddler to Artist Point or Jiko's? Do people look down on you for bringing a toddler to a nicer restaurant? This is our first trip with a child and I'm just wondering if it would be possible to eat there on this trip. Artist Point is our favorite restaurant and we want to try Jiko's since we're staying at AKL. All of the other dining options I have picked out are character meals or more kid friendly places. I wouldn't mind having a night or two at a different kind of restaurant. What do you think? Go for it or skip it?

The only Signature places we have taken our kids to is Brown Derby & they loved it. They also really like Chefs de France. We did these places towards the end of our trip & I often wondered if they so good because these place are quieter than say Chef Mickey, WCC or CP. :teeth:

You Know your child better than anyone so if you think she would do fine then go for it. How old is you DD if she is 4 & potty trained you might want to try a kids club.

Both my DD's 3 and almost a year have been to California Grill, Brown Derby and lots of others....the youngest was a month old at CG...we've never had a problem, they are both used to eating out. And if someone is looking down on you for bringing a toddler that's their problem.

If you child is used to dining out and has no problem sitting through a meal or can be entertained go for it...otherwise it may not be fun for you trying to enjoy your meal.

We took our grandaughter age two to Artist Point. We chose an early dinner time before the restaurant gets to full. She is very good in restaurants, we take her with us quite often, but this was the night she wanted nothing to do with eating out..lol. Needless to say, the wait staff was very patient, we hurried through our meal and got in/out before the restaurant got to busy.

There are kids in all of the Disney restaurants (except V+As), at all times. If you think you and your child would enjoy it, definitely go. If she has a fit, it would be nice for you to take her out for a few minutes, but otherwise, you'll be fine I am sure.

On my December trip with niece and nephew ages 4 and 6 respectively, we took them to Brown Derby, Coral Reef, and California Grill. We had a few (ahem) issues with nephew at Coral Reef, but otherwise they were generally well behaved.

One tip that worked for us: carry paper and markers/crayons. Nephew lasted at CG for almost three hours because he was so caught up in drawing--designing new Disney rides complete with fastpass lines, no less. I think he would have stayed there drawing all night if we let him.

We love AP, too, and have taken our daughter there when she was four. The server was exceptionally good with her, though to be honest, our daughter is overall fairly good in restaurants. There were other kids there, too, and they do have a kids' menu which means they expect there will be children there. Only you know how your daughter will be in nice restaurant, but I would keep in mind that AP usually takes about two hours unless you simply order an entree and maybe a dessert. If she's up to such a dinner, then I say go! :) As another poster mentioned, I'd go for an early ADR before she gets too tired and before the restaurant fills up for the evening. Have fun! By the way, once your daughter is old enough, the Cubs' Den is a wonderful place to take her so that you can enjoy AP with your honey. Bon apetit! paw:
