My wife and I will be at WDW in September and I'm trying to pick out a signature dining option for one dinner. We pretty much have it narrowed down to Narcoossee's, Artist Point, and Jiko. My wife is a little afraid of Jiko because she is worried about the African influence (for some reason she hates Boma). Anyway, your thoughts and opinions will be greatly appreciated.

well you've picked 3 really good ones for a nice quiet dining experience for couple

personally I would say a huge yes for Jiko.
it's my wife and I's favorite signature resturant.

The apps flatbreads are to die for.
the wine list is great, even if you don' know much about wine, you can tell the server and they'll likely recommend a bottle you'll love, they are that good and knowledgeable about each. The servers actually taste, and help pick out which varieties are servered.

And the menu,...I loved the filet.

So i say Jiko
but if you try another, I think you'll be happy with the other two as well.

I personally vote for Narcoossees. We ate there last year and it was a superb meal. We timed it so that we would be there for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom (ask for a window seat). They dimmed the lights and piped in the music for the show. The food and service were superb. We were celebrating DD's graduation from college on that trip and we had prearranged for a cake with the Castle on it and white chocolate Tinkerbell to be presented to her that night. They did a really special job presenting it.

I recommended it also to someone else who went in the fall. They cancelled their existing reservation and booked there. They loved it as well.

Jiko or narcoosees. Didn't like artist point very much. Jiko isn't spicy or anything like that, so I wouldn't worry about that.

My husband and I love Jiko or Narcoossee's. My husband and I did not like our Boma dinner but we did love Jiko.

Where are you staying? That would be a major decision factor for me. I ate at all three last August, you can see the reviewes with pictures of the meals in my sig. I would probably pick Narcosses and so would my DH.

The cedar plank salmon at Artist Point is outstanding; their meat dishes less memorable.

Though you didn't include it on your list, IMO Citrico's is better than any of the three under consideration.

We will be staying at the All Star Movies. By the way lj, your dining reviews are very helpful. Thanks.

Narcoossee's is great, esp if you like seafood!

If you like buffalo, the buffalo is excellent at AP! If you visit in the summer, they serve the filet mignon with heirloom tomato salad that is to die for.

Honestly, I'd check the menus and see what appeals to you. You really can't miss!

I love Jiko, too, but if your wife hates Boma, pick one of the others! :)

I really don't see Artist Point as a signature so this would leave me with recommending Narcoossee's (GF) or Jiko (AKL). Considering your wife's concern I would recommend Jiko. Alternative suggestion would include Citrico's (GF) and California Grill (CR) in the MK Resort area.

As most have said, any of the three would be a fine experience, and I would primarily base my choice upon which menu is most appealing. That being said, Artist Point is my favorite signature restaurant both for the menu and other reasons. The buffalo is quite good at AP, as is the salmon. Others I know have loved the pork chops, and the smoky portobello soup is sublime. They, too, have a wonderful wine list primarily stocked with selections from Washington and Oregon with fairly knowledgeable servers.

But, as much as I enjoy the food, equally fulfilling is the ambience. It's one of the more romantic restaurants in the World, and you can ask to be seated by a window to view the geyser that shoots off every hour. After the meal, stroll around the grounds of the Wilderness Lodge, walking over to the docks or over to the beach area where you can catch Wishes from afar. There is a nature trail that extends past the bike rental shop close to the Villas section that is quite serene, as well.

Jiko is also highly rated in my book, and the flavors aren't so exotic that I believe it would bother your wife. It's a fairly Americanized version of African cuisine, and the food is superb. The service and ambience are exemplary, as well. Have fun deciding. ;)

DH and I love Narcoossees!!!!! Love the food. Great wine list and it's so romantic to enjoy a glass of wine on the veranda while watching Wishes.

We are not fond of Jiko. When we dined at Jiko we were scrunched into a small table for 2, squeezed between two other loud couples....not romantic at all.
Our food was bleh and the server was terrible.

We have also been to all 3 and love them all. Jiko's filet was outstanding. Another really good place was Citricos at GF also. Can not wait to go back!!!

Haven't been to Narcoossees but ate at Jiko & Artist Point on our last trip. (Citricos, too). We loved both meals but would pick AP if we had to choose one. For what it's worth, we didn't care for Boma either but do love Jiko.

Reviews with pics are in the Part 2 link below ...

Thanks guys. Lots of great feedback! It sounds like I would love all three. I hate to choose just one (but I probably have to based on a shortage of excess financial resources)
