Signature Dining Credit Card Charge?

When making a reservation online I understand that I will be asked for a credit card for certain reservations. Will I be charged when making the reservation or is it just a hold if I don't show up?

You will be charged ONLY if you're a "no-show" in the case of just booking a regular signature or sit-down restaurant at WDW.

LOL!!! With the way we book trips and make dining ressies every month, I'd have to have a separate credit card just for dining deposits if they charged right away (we don't want to give them any new "ideas")...
