Well, we just returned today from 10 days at WDW and I have to report that although I had no horse in the race concerning how the free DDP has affected the quality of food overall at WDW, my ears did perk up when two CMs - one a chef at a signature restaurant and one a server at a signature restaurant - both commented that while WDW is offering free dining, they had removed "high maintenance" items from their menus, but that these items (such as the firecracker appetizer at Jiko) will return when free dining ends.

That is very interesting, and is a real insight into the financial workings of the DDP.

How about the busy-ness of the place? We usually go in late November, early December and I'm worried that with free dining it might be crazy busy at the parks.

What did you think? :wizard:

There is no free dining plan during this time of the year...we are also going the week after Thanksgiving, and is one of the quieter times of the year. Still need ADR's for popular places, but the crowds are a fraction of the week before, or later in December approaching Christmas.

That's interesting news!

I love the duck firecrackers at Jiko and would be upset to see them removed during my visit. It's bad that free dining hurts visitors who are willing to pay for excellent food at the signature restaurants.

We are going next week, this year, for the first time.

I hope it isn't so busy 'cause of free dining...

How can you go for the first time, and say you usually go November or December? Do you mean to say, "We are going next week, for the first time this year?" That would make sense about your concern for crowded TS locations...your first post indicated otherwise. :thumbsup2
