Sightseeing tour in LA

We'll be spending the Christmas holidays in DL/DCA but since this willprobably be our only trip to Ca we wanted to include a tour of Hollywood and beaches. Could someone recommend a good company? Thanks in advance.

We were also going to try taking a tour as I will be without a car while my husband attends a conference in San Diego. This is the tour company that I found:

I liked their website and the fact that they will pick you up at your Disneyland area hotel and their prices include admission. I thought it might be easier than renting a car for an excursion as I will be by myself with three kids and don't really care to be driving on unfamiliar highways! We were thinking of either Knott's or the San Diego Wild Animal Park. They do offer a tour entitled Long Beach Aquarium & Queen Mary Tour if you're interested in something along the shore and one in Hollywood entitled Beverly Hills 90210 Movie Stars Homes Tour. As this will be my first time to California I would also be interested in anyone's opinion who has taken a tour and which tour company is the best.

Whenever I go to a city, I can always count on Gray Line Tours to be top notch. They usually pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. If you make it up to Universal Studios for a day, PLMK! I live 4 miles from there and used to work there. I can definitely give you a tour of that park!

We took L.A. City Tours in September and really enjoyed it. It was about $70 each for a 5 1/2 tour - starts in Marina del Rey and stops at Venice Beach - drive through Santa Monica - downtown - Hollywoods Hills to see the sign - Chinese Theater and the Walk of Stars - Lunch on your own at The Farmers Market - Sunset Strip - Rodeo Drive (stop) and then the last hour goes by homes in Beverly Hills and Bellair. There was a lot of traffic due to a triathalon, so we may have skipped Chinatown to make up time - not sure.

Also, if you have a car, go to the Getty Museum and plan to have lunch up there - it is unbelievable!
