That's just like my grandparents who couldn't come to my high school graduation because they were going to a friend's dinner party....

I don't plan on changing it. DH is on my side.

Today mil told me that fil wanted to know why his mother wasn't invited...sigh..

1- I have no idea if she is here in NJ or back in Bklyn
2- FIL does, since he drives her back and forth since she is no longer allowed to drive worship.
3 - GMIL has no computer or email.
4 - I figured FIL would pick her up and bring her!! OY!!!!

Now more drama...mil wants us over either Sat or Sun for a bbq/bday celebration. Sign...we do not like going there..it isn't fun. Fil is always yelling at DS, adn let's just say the meals are not fun or enjoyable. DH doesn't really want to go.

I need to find a tactful way to get out of it.... Oh, and MIL doesn't want GMIL there.... Don't ya just love family!!

My in-laws are in their 60's and live 5 minutes away...15 if traffic on main street is really bad (and it can be thanks to Raceway Park events).

Easy...you have plans!!

Well I would have said that if I had realized what she watned first. I also want DH to tell her. Otherwise I am the bad guy. She already called today, and DS had the phone, so I couldn't ignore the call!! I told her I had to get back to her cause DH might have to work this weekend. ARGH!!

It is going to be nice this weekend, I want to do soemthing fun witht he kids, and we have to go to Costco. Well mil wants to take DS shopping for his present on one day and then on the other day have the bbq.. Umm..how about doing both on one day. I really hate this...it is just gonna start another fight.

Mil and I had a hugh fight last year, when she didn't get to see her son on mother's day. Sigh..our eldest invited us over to his apt, and we said yes cause mil told dh that they were going to AC. So it was all my fault!! She was ranting to me over the phone, and I was driving and said I am not doing this now, goodbye and hung up. Well the poop hit the fan!!

How do you tell your mil, who you basically like (she means well), but that you don't want to go to her house, becuase her DH makes it not fun!! He cleans up as you are eating..and gives you the bums rush. And he constantly criticizes and yells at DS.. Now she knows he is a pill and a PIA..but she wants her kids over. No matter what I am the bad guy. Oh, and DH really dones't want to go, but then he doesn't ever want to go or do anything!!

Ok..time to move far away!!
