So I come home from work last Wednesday to find that sometime during the day, my Fridge died. Stuff in the main portion was warm but thankfully, so I thought, the freezer stuff was still pretty frozen. So I toss all the stuff in the main part of the Fridge in the trash and put the Freezer items in our freestanding deep freezer. Wouldnt you know it, I wake up Thursday and Find out that my deep freezer died as well overnight. Can you say :sick::eek: . Needless to say all of that stuff went into the trash as well. So the repair folks come out Friday and the compressors on both of them went out. Talk about bad luck. The wort part is that its going to take about 1-2 weeks to get the parts and then I will have to schedule them to come back out and get them installed. So instead of living on unhealthy fast food, we decided to buy a new fridge and deep freezer and after they repair the broken ones we will put them in our storage shed in case this stuff happens again. Just needed to vent.

Wow that's expensive. Was either appliance still under warranty? Sometimes it will allow for a food replacement allowance.

Home owners insurance can take care of the food lost....happened to me and they gave me a very generous amount to restock!
