Maybe it's just me, but one of the highlights of our last trip was when I got to go sideways on Space Mountain :dance3:!

Ever since I saw the little bit of track that is shuttled off to the side to allow people who need assistance load without disrupting the regular flow I have wanted to try it. I don't know why, it just seemed really cool :cool1:

So last trip my son and I went on SM, and as we waited at the very front of the line, a CM came over and said he needed 2 people for the car on the moving tracks. Of course I jumped at the chance. It really didn't add any thrill to the ride, but it was a unique experience.

Has anyone else gotten to do this?
And it is just me that finds it really exciting to get to this? :rolleyes1

yes several years ago my daughter was having knee problems and spent one entire day with ice on her knee riding in a wheel chair...we went to the wheel chair entrance and all 6 of us rode with her. We got into the ride vehicle that was pulled to the left on the track to allow folks in Wheel Chairs etc to get into the vehicle at their own pace..
We got in and waited until they moved us back to the right onto the main track..
We got transferred back to the main track and did the ride....when we came back into the station, they pulled us forward and then forward again past the transfer track....CM came over and asked if anyone minded if we went again...
of course everyone said lets go....so we rode SM twice in a row without ever getting out of the ride vehicle:woohoo:

We did about a year ago. We weren't really sure what was going on at first as we pulled forward then moved over to the little "room" on the side. Apparently one of the guys was too big for the ride and didn't fit safely in the seat. So, he got out and then we were able to go on the ride.

I've always kind of wanted to do that too; you're not alone! Glad you got to ride part of the track that most guests don't manage to ride. :rotfl:

(I think that side loading area is one of the coolest additions to Space Mountain, even though I don't need it for myself.)

The same thing happened to us ...the poor guy felt so bad for causing us all a delay. He was really embarrassed.

Yes I kind of thought it was a pain in the neck personally. It too forever to load and unload.

I've done it once with my son who is in a wheelchair. It is pretty cool. I hope to do it many more times with him!

We did this back in April - but I don't recall anyone else in the car needing assistance. I think we were some of the last people to go in the car though, so I could have missed them filling up the rest of the car.

We all thought it was really cool. :3dglasses

We had that experience as well one time.

Yes, I've been seated in one of those cars. Hmmmm..... exciting........nah, but I'm glad they have them for guests who need them.
