Side trip from resort, towncar or cab?

I have to make a round trip from AKL to an off-site hotel to pick up DD from a school trip. Is it easy to call a cab from the resort, or should I book a towncar in advance? Which would be less expensive? My DD needs to be picked up by 7:00 AM if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I would guess that either a cab or TC would be pushing $50 with a tip thrown in. We rented a car at Dolphin for less than $50 last March, getting it at 3:30pm. We took my mom to MCO for her 7 am flight back, dropped my son and his GF off at IOA then made a grocery stop. Do you have use for a car for a day?

No use for a car, other than the one roundtrip...and from what I am reading on these boards, cars are going to be pretty scarce during President's week! But here's the real reason: I am the sort of person who would rather be magically transported to where I have to go, rather than fill out the paperwork required when renting a car! Maybe Tinkerbell can fly me.... Thanks for the info though.

If you want to take a taxi they are available at all the Disney resorts. They normally wait outside the main entrance. There is a CM at the podium who will get the cab for you or will call for one if there isn't one waiting. These taxis work within WDW so there should be little or no wait.
