side by side rooms?

Hi, new member here. We want to take some friends on our first trip with DVC and I was wondering what you think my chances of getting rooms side by side or least close to each other will be?

Based on my experience, your odds are 50-50. We have done this twice and once ended up on the same floor but a good distance away from each other and another time ended up with the rooms adjoining. It also may depend on the time of year that you are going. Slower times increase your odds.

DVC will do the best they can to keep you near each other. Make sure you request it on both reservations. Good luck.

HBC's comments are right on target. I'll add that it might help to check in as early as possible that day to give them the most amount of time to work with your request.

In the end though, it's just a request that may or may not be filled. You can be sure that you will be in the same resort though!

I don't know what type of rooms you're referring to, but if you wanted two one bedroom rooms, you could try to get a single two bedroom suite instead. If I understand it correctly, at places like Boardwalk, which don't have any dedicated two-bedrooms, you'd end up getting a suite that has two hallway doors, effectively giving you side-by-side rooms ( granted, one of those would be a studio).

Depends on the resort and the unit size. If you are looking for 2 studios at OKW, there is NO chance of them being side by side, since the studios are lock offs and only on the ends of the buildings. That means you would likely be above and below rather than side by side. If you are talking about BWV, BCV, or VWL, it is possible that you could be in the same hallway or near each other, but if both units are the same size, it might be difficult to have them side by side. If you are talking about a studio and a 1 bedroom, then side by side would be the same as a 2 bedroom, and you would be better off booking it that way to save points.
