sick at Disney

We were in WDW last Christmas and I got sick!!! The kids and DH were fine and never got it just me!!! Soooooo sad. I think all the packing and worrying just made me a little overtired and made me the perfect candidate for getting sick. I dont think it is WDW I think it is a combination of lack of sleep, planning, rushing, worrying and then flying on a small plane with re-circulated air. We had a great day of Monorail and Hotel Christmas Dec watching planned and I stayed home at POR sick as a dog. Kids and DD had a great breakfast at Kona followed by a fun day walking the beach to POR and then the Monorail to Cont back to Poly and on to YBC for dinner. I had the really horrible sugar free jello from room service with tea.....terrible Christmas! I do bring wipes and lysol.

I think she said SOMETIMES they are not changed and that is true
No, she said OFTEN. Not SOMETIMES. I can believe that every once in a while the maids don't clean the room properly but it does not happen often. Especially at WDW. Those maids won't last long.
We do not bring our own sheets but I do go to the laundry room and get freshly washed sheets and put them on myself.I also spray the room down, so far it has worked we have NEVER gotten sick at wdw!
You really go to the resort's laundry ask for fresh sheets when you check in?!?! Wow.

yep...no issue at all...we do not use maid service while we are there so we clean our own room and when we need clean sheets we go get some sheets and change them.I do not like having people in the room while we are not there. The room where the sheets are are norm close to the rooms so its at the end of the hall so why "wow"? or are you just trying to be dramatic?:sad2: I would rather walk down for clean sheets then haul my own and I have had more then a few times when the beds have been dirty.

We have been sick at WDW on two different trips. My daughter's first trip to Disney was December 2007 and we all came down with a horrible stomach bug. Started with her the night we arrived. DH came down with it the next day and I started two days after that. It was not exactly the exciting first trip we had hoped for, but it did give us a reason to go back the following year :) The "make-up" trip was a success!

Second time was our trip this past September, DD#2's first trip. Oldest DD came down with bronchitis again the night we arrived, which eventually caused an asthma attack that resulted in a 911 call and a trip to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. After several breathing treatments and a prescription for some prednisone, she was good to go and we were able to enjoy the rest of our trip.

I will say that both the CM's at Disney and the staff at Arnold Palmer were great to us! Again, not the trip we had planned, but everyone went out of their way to still make it special for both of my DD's.

Unfortunately for us, I think we brought the germs with us both times, rather than picking them up in Disney, since DD got sick the first night. I have joked with DH though that next time we go, I'm putting both girls in a protective bubble for a week before we leave :)
