We went to KSC and paid to take one of the more in depth tours. Discovery was in the launch pad then. I was felt like a kid getting to see it there. Even though we couldn't see the shuttle itself, it was awesome to see everything in place. I hope I can make it back to see one of the last few scheduled shuttle launches. I think this would be so awesome to see. Especially since we took the tour and you find out everything that it takes to launch the space shuttle.
I can't remember exactly, but I want to say our tour guide told us that there are already different space crafts being made that will replace the shuttles. I forgot what he called them exactly, but it was interesting to hear. I'll have to ask DW. She might remember, or my bf might remember. He's really into this stuff and might remember what they're called.
