Shuttle Launch June 13th!!

Ok I would love to see the Shuttle take off again, but the last time we saw it it was free, NOW it would cost us over $200 bucks . Where can we go or how close can we get to see it for free? And what area would be a great view. I am really disapointed, but I would buy tickets if it was closer to the beginning of our trip there are no refunds on tickets if its delayed. I really want to see it

Do a google search search on Titusville shuttle, and I'm usre you'll find information about driving there to view the launch. DH & sons drove there for the launch in March and their view was great! But be prepared for a 5-6 hour drive back to Orlando after the launch if you go. Traffic will be solid all the way back (about 60 miles).

I would never buy tickets for a launch unless you knew you were goig to go whenever it goes. It was supposed to launch when we were there in February. I think it finally launched in March. So you would be out the money. I have heard a lot of people have seen it from their hotel at WDW. The other option is to go to Port Canaveral - I would think you would get a good view there but not be able to see the actual liftoff.

yeah we have decieded against paying for tickets too much too lose, we will step out of our rental home early in the morn They really dont care with the tickets sales I kept reading and you are really out of luck and money if its delayed

I got some good advice in this thread in the transportation forum: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1613345

I called NASA in 1993 and they sent me a pass to get onto the causeway for free. Now it's too expensive and a risky moneywise if the launch gets scrubbed.

From my research, it looks like Titusville is the best place to view the launch for free, and the traffic will be bad on the way back to Disney. But I still think it's worth it.

We'll be planning on leaving the resort at 03:00 and going to Spaceview park in Titusville.
