I have read about the long queues forming in CDG airport for the VEA bus and I was wondering whether any DD friends have used other shuttle operators and whether they can recommend such an operator. As we will have a long journey with plane, we will want an efficeint and speedy transfer (not trains please!!!).

Thank you all

Hey there... are you sure you don't want to hop on the TGV to be at Disneyland in just 10 minutes? It's comparable to the VEA shuttle prices (if prebooked)...

There are several private shuttles, look at »this thread.

Most (if not all) of them have to be prebooked (and sometimes prepaid, too). Double check if they'll wait when your flight arrives late!

Dear oliver:yay:

Thank you for your prompt reply. Trains have been excluded because we arrive at terminal 1 of CDG and the trains are in terminal 2 so we will need to find another transfer.:goodvibes

Hi
We used the VEA to take us to DLRP from CDG which to be honest was a bit confusing to find the stop for,but pre booked a private shuttle back(RS I think they are BS Transport now) as our flight was 09.45am
I would definately recommend them, they were fab and even though there was 8 of us(and lots of luggage) we had plenty of space.
I was panicking that they may not turn up as we had only booked one way but the driver was prompt and helpful and the cost was about the same as the VEA.

Although you don’t will like this but I would also recommend the TGV train! It is by far the fastest way to get to the magic. And don’t worry about getting to Terminal 2 the shuttle bus system within CDG is very easy.
We always land on Terminal 3 and 10 minutes later we are at the train station in Terminal 2.
And 10 more minutes later you are in the heart of DLRP! And some trains every day have a special price. 14€ per adult is in my opinion a great deal. :)

I would agree with that. We have tried several options (TGV, RER into Paris and then out again and DisneyBus). Will always use TGV from now on - 10 minutes to DLRP. does depend on when your flight arrives as to how long you may have to wait for a train - if you arrive early evening there are less trains running. Plus as it is only 10 minutes to return back to the airport as well, you get longer at DLRP!

Don't listen to them athenspaps - stick with your original plan!!!! :teeth:

I've used the TGV, the VEA shuttle and a private shuttle, and the TGV would be my last choice from now on. The door to door service provided by a shuttle service can't be beaten :thumbsup2 Once you totalled up transferring between terminals, waiting for train and then the bus to your hotel, the TGV takes about the same length of time - IMHO!! :flower3:

*LOL* :3dglasses Anything's better than walking :tiptoe:

We were only 2 and had light luggage and weren't paying on the TGV :woohoo:

In bigger groups I'd say "let's have a shuttle"... less hassle, more fun, and you feel great having your own driver! :hippie:

That's a very interesting thread .
I have not booked the VEA shuttle nor a private one to DLP yet and have been thinking about the TGV but now am a bit scared LOL :scared1:
It looks like our plane will arrive at Terminal D, is it far from the train station??
I read you can get VEA tickets on the bus but is it raccomended to book them before  ??
Still a lot to plan LOL :rotfl:

When you say you are arriving at Terminal D, I presume you mean Terminal 2D. In which case it's very easy to get to the TGV station - just a few minutes walk. Have a look at this plan It's when you have to get on the airport shuttle, just to get from Terminals 1 or 3, that it becomes more of a pain.

Check the TGV timetable in the Travelling by Plane thread in the Useful Info sticky to see if there is a train departing about an hour or so after you land, and if that's what you want to do then booking now might mean you pay a bit less than if you bought in at the station. Once you arrive at DLP/Marne La Vallee you will see the various hotel buses just outside the station. So it's not a difficult journey, just not as easy as getting in a bus or taxi on leaving the terminal and getting out at the entrance to the hotel.

Tickets for the VEA can't be bought in advance and seats can't be booked - you just queue up and pay the driver as you get on. :)

Thanks Bexx, i thought you could book VEA shuttle but it says you can just buy tickets at your travel agency and it doesnt mean you can go straight up the bus:confused3 .
Have checked a private shuttle site :surfweb: and it says 20 euros each passenger and it odesnt sound much different from VEA (16 euros each) so will have to think more...:dance3:

Sometimes the VEA tickets are included in the package you buy from a travel agents. This means that you have prepaid the fare, but it doesn't mean that a seat has been booked for you on a particular bus - you just queue up for the next available one. :)

:grouphug: thank you all for your input.

It seems to me the best bet if travelling with kids is the private shuttle.
