I have a friend going to Disneyland and Universal to celebrate her birthday. They're planning to stay close to Disneyland and just go up to Universal for the day. So far, she's only been able to find shuttles that would get her to Universal after the park opens, and returns before the park closes.

Does anyone know of a shuttle service that leaves early and returns later?

Driving is out because she wants to responsibly enjoy adult beverages. Uber and taxis are more costly than she can afford. She's looked at the bus/train, but is trying to avoid a two hour trip.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I hope I'm wrong so your friend can find a shuttle, but I don't know of one.

That said, I know you said she already looked at the bus and train, but Metrolink to Union Station then the Metro Red Line to Universal Studios could be a viable option. Metrolink from Anaheim to Union Station is I think about a 30 minute trip, and the Red Line to Universal maybe 20 or so? Still not ideal, I know, but not two hours! Probably even comparable to driving, honestly, at the time of day for park opening. And no traffic! :P

I have never seen a service that leaves early and returns later.
It would sure be nice if there was one...

How many people are in her group? I used Uber's fare estimator for an UberX and it was 50-60 dollars for Disneyland to USH. Depending on the size of her group that may be cheaper than other options.

We bought transfer with admission but our transfer alone was $45 each. There are 3 of us. Looks like we should have used Uber!
I am hoping for some sort of "tour talk" along the way haha.

We ran into the same problem. We decided to just grab a cab, might be around the same price as transfers as we are a family of 6.

You have to book a private shuttle, which is pricey but you can set your own departure and return times. Your hotel will probably have a car service they can recommend.

She could probably reduce the cost of the Uber by taking the blue line from somewhere in Long Beach to the red line by USH, but my guess it the total trip would still be about 2 hours each way. She might have to compromise and stop drinking early enough to drive home.
