I'm unsure if this is the correct board to post to or not....but here goes.

I love using shutterfly, I have made both MIL and DM scrapbooks from our wedding using shutterfly. I would really like to make a scrapbook from our Disney trip using shutterfly but would like to use more disney theming for the book, shutterfly doesn't offer this. You can however, print your own scrapbook, so, my question is-- have you ever created a digital scrapbook page using disney enhancements and then printed it using shutterfly.

Suggestions are welcomed.

TIA

I recently started using Shutterfly, and I made a Disney scrapbook from our last trip to the world. It was the first time DD4 was brave enough to do meet & greets with the Princesses.

To get Disney type theming I turned to two sources.

1) www.scrapbookgonedigital.com is a website that has digital "paper" and scrapbooking materials. They have a set of papers that aren't official disney stuff, but it's close enough. It's called "The Mouse Collection" I think.

2) If you look over at ebay, there's someone out there that is selling Disney digital "paper" for scrapbooking. It appears that all the person is doing is scanning in the official paper and selling digital copies (almost certainly illegal). I had bought some of it then realized that it was probably not legal.

Adobe sells a product called Photoshop Elements. One of the nice things you can do in Elements is make Shutterfly books. By using Elements, you can use your own backgrounds, add digital notions and such (found online at places like the ones listed above). Then when the book is finished, you can just upload it and Shutterfly will print it. It turned out great.

If you don't have Photoshop Elements, give Blurb a try. There's a GREAT article over at http://www.wdwphotography.com about Blurb. Reading the article, it appears that Blurb gives you software you can download and then do exactly the same thing.

I do this regularly, with everything not just Disney. I am a digital scrapbook product designer though so it comes naturally, I can't just use what's given to me on the photo sites. :) If you search some digital scrapbooking stores online and use keywords like, magical, vacation, even Disney or mouse if they have anything related it should come up. I have found some digital scrapbooking kits that kit nicely and used them to make books before I designed my own product.

Here are a few pictures of a book I made for our Disney trip last summer, I didn't use Shutterfly, but it's the same anywhere...you just upload your full pages you've created in whatever software you choose to use, like Photoshop Elements as the PP said, and drop them into full page photo layouts in Shutterfly.

If you need more info you can check out the Creative Community board here there are info threads on where to find themed kits.

Another scrapbooking hint, there is a font called "Waltograph" that looks a lot like Walt Disney's handwriting. A little goes a long way but it is really nice for some titles and such. Other WDW related fonts are "Ravenscroft" (Haunted Mansion) and "Space Age" (Mission Space).
