Shutter Island?

I saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it. It was a great psychological thriller that had me guessing until the end. Everytime I thought I had it figured out I was wrong.

I am going to see it this week. My brother is an extra in the film and has a many scenes where he is clearly visible. (my brother already saw it)

I can't wait to see it.

I thought it was very well done. I FINALLY see what all the fuss is about with Leonardo diCaprio as an actor. And all this time I have been calling him DiCRAPio. :)

Slightly spoilery in a general way, highlight if you want to read.
However, I will say that the ending was very upsetting to me. I usually have a high tolerance. And I am not hormonal, so I am not sure why it hit me so hard (tears). ;) It did not seem to affect anyone else in the theater as strongly as it did me.

We also figured parts of it out but I was totally sucked in. The acting was incredible.

Instead of starting a new thread, I figured i'd just bump this one up for my question.

I am supposed to go see this next week. I absolutely hate horror movies, but from what I understand this is more psychological. Is it truly scary, or more just creepy? I can handle the creepy, but downright horror is a no go. Thanks in advance for any more opinions/reviews you can share!

Could someone please PM me, too, with the answer about the supernatural stuff. Thanks!

No--it is definitely NOT a horror movie in the least. It IS a psychological thriller--no blood and gore. I thought it was really good and I loved the ending.

Umm...I also want to tell you all that I almost made a dreadful error in typing the word "Shutter" when I sent a PM. Yeah...the "u" is next to the "i" on the keyboard!:rotfl2:

Thanks! I'll just be a big girl and suck it up. Two of my guy friends came to see Valentine's Day with me and another girlfriend of mine last week, so they are taking us to Shutter Island next week as 'pay back'. I told them to be prepared for some bruising - I scare easily!

No, not horror at all! I honestly didn't even think it was all that creepy. It has its moments and the atmosphere is ominous, but I hoped it would be creepier. I saw it twice last weekend, so obviously I loved it!

Saw it last weekend.
It was good....not as creepy as I was expecting from the previews.

The "twist" ending wasn't really much of a twist to me. I knew what it was going to be before even entering the theater  Guess I have just seen too many movies ;)
DH got it after about an hour.

I hope to see it eventually... side note..rented "Law Abiding Citizen" last weekend... WOW..good movie.
