Shula's Dress Code?

Can anyone tell me if there is a dress code at all at Shula's? The reason I ask is that friends of mine stayed at the Swan and told me they didn't go into Shula's because he didn't have anything but levis' to wear and couldn't get in. Now they weren't WDW fans at all, it was a convention for them. When asked on the phone how you liked it there he stated " nothing to write home about"! Wow, that statement nearly ruined my day. I spent a lot of time preparing them for a good time too. Ok off the subject. Now they can't remember if there really was a dress code or not. Can't remember the World???? So my fellow WDW fans, what do you know about this?

We ate there Wednesday night and I saw all kinds of dress
and kids as well. Not lots of kids but there were tables with
kido's and baby's . I was rather dressed up, black velvet pants
and black beeded top. Most were much more casual. DH wore
dockers and sports shirt. Plenty of knit shirts, did not see any
jackets or ties.

I think Shula's may prefer for their guests to be dressed 'business casual' (or better) but being at WDW, they fully realize there will be people in casual wear as well.....and they allow it. I was there recently and my wife and I just walked in...no PS and got seated and had a great meal. We were both wearing shorts and nice shirts and I saw many others there wearing shorts too. I say dress for your own personal comfort....they won't turn you away and I don't think you'll feel out of place.

Now that said, if I went to the Shula's in Philadelphia, I would not wear shorts but again, in WDW, I feel that is totally acceptable.

I ate there on 3/12, and I actually called ahead of time to ask what to wear, I get nervous about that stuff. They told me they "recommended" causal dress, whatever that means. I wore kakhis and a golf shirt.

The recommended dress is "resort casual" The dress we have seen there is WDW casual. You name it, we saw it.

As far as the steak, it is by far the best I ever had. Bar none!

The first time I went everyone in our party had been in MGM all day. We were all wearing shorts and t-shirts. We felt VERY out of place. When I returned for a second time (YES, it is THAT good!) I felt more comfortable wearing slacks and a nice shirt. With the type of service you receive here you can definitely tell it is NOT a place to wear parks clothing.

HAve fun! Enjoy the meal! The rasberry sorbet for desert is excellent. Nice and light after a steak!

When we booked we were specifically told the dress code was "business casual". When we arrived there was signage indicating the same thing.

There were some people who were seated in what I call "Clean the garage casual", they looked VERY out of place.

IMHO when a place has a dress code, especially a written one, they sould stick to it. Period.

I guess it all boils down to whether or not it is a "requirement" kind of code, or a "suggested" code- ie what they would LIKE you to wear. Seems so far it is a suggested code.. we ate there in shorts and Disney T's and thought nothing of it. Neither did the restaurant staff.
Shula's isn't THAT good of a restaurant that they can afford to turn away paying customers who aren't dressed the way they like. If they turn to that, they'll be serving mostly businessmen/women who are there on conventions--and I doubt whether that sort of clientele can sustain the restaurant over the long haul.

We ate at Shula's in Philly in December and there were a few people in jeans. We were dressed and I was not at all offended. Whatever floats your boat. I suppose as long as you can pay the bill, jeans are accepted!
