My parents are now joining us for part of our trip. This is on the condition that my dad gets a great steak dinner. Opinions please on the best restaurant for steak and atmosphere. Thanks

Absolutely Shula's. Be prepared, it's rather expensive, the portions are enormous, and they achrge you to split a meal.

If you are all adults I would say Shula's 100%. We have eaten at the 3 and while they are all good Shula's is the best. It's expensive, but they don't skimp on the portion size. Tons to eat. If I may recommend save room for the chocolate souffle for 2 for dessert, its heavenly!!:D

Shula's is the major leagues, the others are the minors. Shula's has huge portions but if done smart, sharing sides and apps it's no more expensive then YSH.

Just curious, how much do they charge to split a meal?

I was told by a manager that will not charge that to child.

I have eaten at The Yachtsman twice and the Concorse Steakhouse once. I would easily choose the Yachtsman over the Concorse and have read many reviews that Shula's is even better than the Yachtsman.

What would appropriate attire be? We are planning a quick four nights over Labor Day and this might be a nice surprise for my honey!

I just made reservations for late October and the CM on the phone told me that shorts and tank tops aren't allowed, so we planned on wearing casual dresses or short-sleeve shirts with casual skirts. I've never eaten at Shula's, so I'm thrilled with this thread, thanks for the input!

They lie, lol. I've seen botrh there. It's an unenforced dress code. Dress you conscience

Well, I guess since you've already made reservations - it will be pointless for me to disagree with the previously posted sterling reviews of Shula's. But I will anyway....... I personally find the place dark, the service pushy and without personality & the food severely lacking for the price paid. In my experience The Yachtsman is head & shoulders above Shula's (at WDW, I specify that because the Shula's locations in Miami Lakes & West Palm Beach are on a different level). In as many times as we have eaten at YSH we have never had an experience that led us to say "we'll never go back there again". Not so at Shula's. I find YSH to have better service (even on their worst night), better food (even on their worst night) and for the price paid, the YSH provides a better value. Not mention the intangible, that being the fact that when I dine at YSH I still feel like I am at WDW (again, I don't get that feeling at Shula's - it feels like Restaraunt X in Any Big City, USA). Give me YSH!

We L-O-V-E-D the food at Shula's. It was very, very good- I left stuffed. Our service left something to be desired- you are served in teams of two. Our server that greeted us, took our order, and dropped off the check was our "head" server and we thought he was a pompous a**. That's pretty much all he did- didn't serve our food, refill our water, didn't bring our cocktails, didn't check on us, didn't take the food away. His "grunt" server did that and he was kind, gracious and courteous. We were esp irritated because he took a llooonnnggg time to take our order because he was tripping over himself obliging every whim to the high roller table of 15 behind us. When those people were sat down- a good 5-8 minutes after us, I told my husband "We are never going to see our server again. That is easily a $400 tip right there." My husband thought I was joking, but then we waited a good 10+ minutes for our waiter to come back to take our order. We sat there for probably 20 minutes total just looking at each other, playing with our cocktails. So, my DH was getting more and more irritated and when the waiter finally came back my DH said something along the lines of "Gosh, looks like you are pretty busy with your big table over there. Hope you still have time to take care of us." He apologized twice and then very blandly took our order. The other server totally rocked and we slipped him an extra $20 on the side. It was our special night out, and although the food really was superior the service lacked that Disney magic.

Just ate at Shula's a week ago. The portions of vegetables that they serve are stupidly large. I don't know anyone who could eat a full course meal there at thos portions. The steak is top shelf with no skimping, but unless share each others sides, you'll be sending a lot of food back.

When you reserve you will be told business casual. This is also written on the wall outside the restaurant. When we dined there we saw everything from suits and ties to shorts and t-shirts, but most people were in smart/busines/resort casual (all the same thing). DH wore chinos and a golf shirt, I was in slacks and a blouse, and that seemed to be where just about 80% of the other diners were as well.

The sides are hige. our server suggested that we split a side rather than each ordering our own because there was so much to it.

Thanks for the input. I made the PS for Shulas.
