Do you shred your billing statements or any other information containing accout or personal information before you put it in the trash?

My DH just bought a shreader and has been having an absolute field day. He shreds everything! I laugh at him.

Actually, though, it's safer this way. We had alot of old tax documents that needed to be discarded. Identity theft is a disaster ...... we're trying our best to avoid it.

We shread just about everything with any of our information on it. There's been so much about identity left in the news so we thought better to be safe than sorry.

Me too. Everything and anything with our name on it goes into the shredder.

I shred anything that has our names, address or any kind of account number on it.

I shred all bills that have our names or an account numbers on them, debit card and ATM slips, receipts with credit card numbers and our names on them, and credit card offers.

i am my own shredder, but i do rip everything up into itty bitty pieces.

My Obsessive Compulsive DH shreds anything that has our address/name, etc. on it. He even shreds mail that comes addressed to : Residents!

He already wore out our first shredder...we're on the second one now!

We hear the shredder going and laugh because dh is at it again. I think its a great idea though.

I have been tearing up all statements, bills, phone bills, etc for years and just bought a shredder this weekend to make it easier.

I learned this from my mom...she started doing it because she actually caught someone going through her trash! So now my entire family does it just to be cautious.

Absolutely!!!!!!!!! After 2 minor cases of id theft we'd be fools not to!

***Make sure you check your receipts from everywhere you use your credit card or debit card at too. Many still print the full card # on it.

she was writing out a rough draft for a final for he online course and then she had to type it and email it to him. so she did that and shreeding the rough draft. and it was due the next day by 10:00 and the professer called her at 10:00am that day and wonder where her paper was at. He never got the email. so she called him and told him that she emailed it. and he never got it, so he gave her to 5:00 that day to email it to him

So she had to write the whole thing over.

I told her next time KEEP everything until you get your final grade.

She didn't even think about using word to type it out and save it and then attach it to the email.. That would have been way to easy
