Hello,

We will be traveling with someone who has back problems. They can walk but when they sit they need back support for more then 10 minutes. We are doing the candlelight processional. Is there anything I can do for them? I was debating carrying around one of those stadium seats. They aren't ideal but would help. Will Disney allow those?

Thanks!

most of the seats at the CP has backs -they are long bench seats

Oh wonderful!!! One less thing to worry about. I figure any other shows we go, we will just go early and try to find those elusive seats up against a wall or post.

A word of warning. Cold metal or cement benches may cause problems for your friend.(As a favorite relative says "The cold gets into your bones") I would expect the CP to be chilly, so you may want to bring a thick towel or something as a buffer.

They only thing I can think of that you would sit at for a while with no back support would be Fantasmic ( Handicap viewing has no backs and I don't think the otehr areas do either, but I could be wrong). I'm not sure how they would accomadate for this at a show like that, but ther is a wall along the back, maybe the CM could help out if you explain what is going on. It might also be worth a trip by guest realtions and explain the need. They may have dealt with this issue before and have some ideas that could help.

As has already been said, most of the shows have proper back-rests on the seats. The only ones that springs to mind that don't have are Fantasmic (I think) and Lights, Motors, Action (see this photo, for the latter).

If you're doing a show that you know doesn't have proper back support, you could always rent a wheelchair for the day, or part of the day. Your friend wouldn't have to use it all day (I know some people with back problems find walking less painful than wheeling), you can park them up in the stroller parking areas when you don't need it. You may even be able to borrow one just for the length of the show (they have a few backstage, in a number of locations around the parks), but I can't promise that.

Also, be wary of It's Tough To Be A Bug, as this one pokes you in the back quite hard. I don't know whether that would cause problems for your friend, but it's best that they're fore-warned!
