One of the things we are the most excited about are the shows! My boys (10 and 9) do a lot of local theater (we had to reschedule this cruise b/c they were both cast in 'Jungle Book' :goodvibes ).

My question is this: How will the shows be for our 13 month old? Anyone take a wee one to the shows? Is it hard to get into Flounder's during the shows? I really was not planning on using Flounder's, but this might cause me to consider that.

Anyone?

My little ones fell asleep in every show, even the matinees (they were 3 and 4 at the time). I have a great picture of us holding them in our laps, fast asleep in the theater. I don't have any information about Flounders for you, but good luck!

That's the scenario that I'm hoping for ;) She did sleep through the 'Fighter Pilot' Imax last week (I told DH that she slept through 'the war' :teeth: ) She loves music and I love shows. I guess I was worried about her fussing or just making noise (she is a 'chatter' like me  ). I guess on DCL I should relax about 'kid stuff'...

Can you bring strollers into the theatre (I am assuming NO). It would be nice to sit on an aisle and let her drift on in the ol' stroller.

The performers use the aisles for most shows, so I'm guessing the stroller is a no. I think an aisle seat is a great idea--that way if she gets loud or fussy you can discreetly take her out.

Good question...I've been wondering about this. Amelia will be 16 months on her first sailing and we *love* the shows!!!

We got back a couple of weeks ago with our first ever Disney cruise. We had our 11.5 month DD with us.

We took Madeline to two of the shows - the Golden Mickeys (after dinner show) and the matinee of Disney Dreams. She LOVED the first 1/2 hour or so of Golden Mickeys, and then started to get really fidgety and fussy because it was late for her and she was so tired. We were sitting in the aisle so we just took her out and it was no big deal (of course the moment she got out she was happy again!! Too much stimulation I guess.)

When we saw Disney Dreams, she loved the first 1/2 hour of that or so too (clapping hands, laughing and singing!) and then she just passed out in my arms.

You can't put a stroller in the aisle, that I know for sure. You have to leave them outside the theater.

As for Flounder's, we never had a problem getting the times we wanted.

Can you do walk-ins with Flounders or is it all by appointment?

Well behaved children are always welcome! If she's not you can always sit on the end and take her out discreetly.......... ;)

We did ours all by appointment (made reservations the first day.) I do know, however, that a few parents were able to get their children in with short notice - but not sure about walk-ins.

True, but unfortunatly there are so many parents out there that dont abide by this courtesy and stay there with a crying baby ruining shows for everyone else. We have experienced this too many times. UGH!

Don't worry...I have missed many things (and meals) so that other could enjoy. I would not want to ruin anyone else's experience. It is a little harder this time around. My DS10 and DS9 want me to be able to be part of things too :grouphug:

Sitting on the end is always a good idea :)

I think that the fact that you even posted this concern shows that you are considerate. Kids sometimes surpise us & are awed by all the new things...sounds...lights. I hope that all of you enjoy your cruise. :)
