We have a local relative that plans on joining us all for one day - her work schedule is so day-to-day, won't know in advance really which day.
Any chance if we show up with her they'll accommodate us?

Depending on which day she joins us, here are the possible meals:
Garden Grill at 4:10 for party of 9 - may be 10
Whispering Canyon Cafe at 4:30 - for 9, may be 10
Both of those are either the first seating when they open for dinner, if not close to it - will that help us?

We also have a 3:40 early dinner at Crystal Palace that we may need to add her to.

I would change my ressies to make them for 10 just in case - but we're less than 2 weeks out, so highly doubt that would be possible.

So what do you think the chances are that we'll be okay if show up with an extra person?

On my trip just this last December, my sister decided to join us right before we left. It was no trouble adding her to the resort reservation, but I could not add her to several of my ADR's. I must have called 50 times, and every time certain restaurants (CRT, LTT, Chef Mickey's, etc.) had no availability.

Yet, at every single place, the CM's kindly and graciously added her once we were there. Even our lunch at Cinderella's Castle was a breeze! I had been really worried about that one. The staff took it right in stride, and said of course they would add her to our table. We had planned for her to go to a counter service while I had lunch there with my daughter, and I was so grateful that the CM's made everything so magical for us.

There's a chance, but no guarantees.

Tables in most WDW restaurants have an even number of chairs, so if your ADR is for an odd number and you show up with ONE extra person, it's usually not terribly difficult for the restaurant to accomodate you.

However, if your ADR is for an even number, which would fill a table, and you try to add another person, which would require a larger or additional table, you're unlikely to get seated at your ADR time; you'll be treated like a walk-up and be given a table whenever one opens up, which could keep you waiting for a long time at some of the popular restaurants.

Disney tries to accomodate all of their Guests, but how well they do so depends entirely on how busy they are at the time. All three of your listed ADRs are at very popular places that tend to be pretty busy even in the off seasons.

Still, I recommend thawt you call back and at least TRY to increase your ADRs, as a matter of courtesy. If your friend doesn't show up, you'll have one empty seat.

We have NEVER had an issue adding an additional per son to our ADR's. We have a lot of friends in the Orlando area that seem to want to join us LAST MINUTE or family members who didn't want to eat with us that decide that do want to last minute. We always just politely ask the CM when we arrive if we can add the person (or two) and they have always been GREAT about it.

I'm positive that if you show up with one extra person there will be no problem at all. I wouldn't worry.
