Not that I intend to be late, but what happens if you are late for an ADR? How late can you be?
For example, I have an ADR at Le Cellier for 4 at 1:20. If I showed at at 1:35 would they turn me away?

Two weeks until:banana:

Thanks!

Normally they would hold your spot for 15-20 minutes. If you were much later than that they would probably still seat you, you'd just have to wait for the next available table. All of this is of course at the locations discretion.

Sometimes you can be hours late and be told "no problem"

Sometimes you can rush breathlessly to your princess breakfast five minutes late and they've given your table away (saw it happen to a poor woman).

Disney gives you travel time estimates when you make your reservations and recommends planning to arrive fifteen minutes EARLY.

As a rule of thumb, do not be late to character meals, Le Cellier, your fireworks seating at California Grill or Rose and Crown. In general, don't intend to be late for anything, but these can be particularly harsh.

The general rule is that your reservation will be held for 15 minutes after the time. That along with the recommendation that you get to the place fifteen minutes before your reservation really gives you a half hour window. They do understand if you were caught up on a bus or trying to get through the turnstiles or whatever. But they don't know that until you get there so they will move you off the list. When you show up, you will probably get the next available table for a party of your size but you would be considered a walk-up at that point. A priority walk-up but a walk-up just the same.

Le Cellier is such a popular restaurant, that I wouldn't chance being late for my ADR.

DH didn't understand the importance of being early/on time for ADRs until our 2 Christmas trips. Two times, he made us "late": the first, Cinderella's Palace breakfast on the day after Christmas. This was to be the highlight of our trip - I had tried 4 different years to get breakfast and was never able to. Because DH had dawdled, DD and I literally ran through the park to get there, and we were still 15 minutes late. A very lovely lady at the desk outside took pity on me - she could see that I was practically in tears, and promised to fit us in, even though she had already given our seating away. (I don't know if I'm the person that crisi referred to or not. If not, then the staff at CRT must be awfully patient and kind!)

The second was a very difficult New Year's Eve where we chose to dine at Crystal Palace and the only seating I could get was 6:30pm. Although we got there the required 15 minutes early, I stood in line for half an hour just to check in, which meant we were "late". We were left to the mercy of the seating staff - which meant a further delay, which caused us to miss seeing Tinkerbelle fly, which meant that the next time we went to Disney it was me and DD, we left DH at home! He has promised that, if we ever take him along again, he will not make us late for ADRs.

We just got back, and were :scared: 45 minutes late for Yachtsman! We totally underestimated the time neccessary for travel by bus from MK to Pop and then by van to the Yacht Club. As soon as I realized we were late, I called our front desk, who connected me directly to the resturaunt, and they held our seats. When we got there, we waited maybe 10 minutes. I have a feeling that was possible only because it was not a very crowded night. Next time we will definitely plan more carefull!

We were 15 minutes late for our ADR at WCC... they still sat us... still had to wait.

Just wanted to ditto :thumbsup2

I have been late a few times in the past. There hasn't been many issues, but we go doing the "slow" times.

Please keep in mind that ADR's are not typical reservations. You are not seated the moment you check in, but rather when a table that will fit your party opens up. So if you have 6 in your party and all the tables that seat six are full, you will have to wait for a party to leave before you are seated. I hope that clears up some misconceptions about ADRs. :)
