Show me your DL Mr.Potato head!!!!!!

How much is the box of potato head parts? I will buy a potato head from walmart and get the parts from DL.

Thanks for reminding me! I remembered reading this on one of the Disney blogs/tip sites and it was such a great tip...I never would've thought it was okay to buy the head elsewhere & just buy the Box Set w/parts only!

Ok, trying again....YAY! it worked! Thanks for helping me out!

Thanks...I think they are pretty cute too. I love the Mickey Ice Cream bar with a bite taken out of it.

I want to get another box of accessories when we go in August. We need a Mrs. Potato head...and a moustache. My DH picked all this out...and I kept asking "How did you forget a moustache???"

I like the idea of buying the body at WalMart or Target...I may just do that.

About how many parts fit in a box? I know I need some arms in order to fit the disney stuff in the hands. thanks for that tip!

I beleive it was $19.99 for the box and $45 for the large. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong. My memory is the worst!

Just an FYI...If you have seen the station at WDW and are looking forward to that, you might be disappointed at DCA. It does not have nearly the selection that WDW has. At WDW you really have to make choices as to what you want, at DCA you can fit just about everything into a box!
But my DS LOVES the star wars potatoheads. His newest is Mashter Yoda

Oh boo!!!!!! That isn't what I wanted to hear =( What are all the places that sell the pieces at DLR? Is it just the place at DCA?

Just out of curiosity, are you allowed to buy a piece or two separately without buying a whole box of stuff? If so, how much does an individual piece cost?

I don't have a Potato Head, but I'd love to have a few of those accessories (especially the Mickey ice cream bar!! :mickeybar).

All of the photos are really fun and cute, and so are the kids. :) Thank you for sharing.
I had a Mr. Potato head when I was a kid, but then grew out of it, and now just have the head that is currently on my neck.............. ;)

My 7 yo son had a very difficult time making a decision of what souvenir he wanted to take home from DL last month. When he saw Mr. Potato head, it was decided. All my kids have had a blast with this toy and I must say my husband did a fantastic job at jam-packing that box full of accessories. I just wish we had thought in advance to buy the head elsewhere. Oh well, we still got lots of fun stuff. Here are some pics:

ETA: I saw this thread about MPH and thought I'd post the below. I believe the boxes are the same size etc. If you do need to buy a head and put it in the box, make sure you stuff the inside!

I had to post back and show my Potato Head Parts...I went to the Toon Town shop at the MK since we didn't go to DTD, I wish I had a better selection of accessories (pretzel, soda) though.

I got about 40 pieces. The Mary Poppins umbrella did not fit but a CM told me it didn't have to go into the box. I paid an extra $2.45 for it. Fairy wings did fit.

I did not get a head, so these were just pieces in a VERY stuffed box, it barely closed and was bulging but the CM said it was fine and in fact asked me if another CM had help me stuff it (nope, just advice from the internet). ;)

Note the bottoms of the mickey feet are very spacious and I stuffed some pieces inside before placing them in the box (name tag and earrings). I have multiple items since I just crammed whatever would fit.

ANOTHER TIP:
If you buy this early on in your trip, each night when the kids go to sleep, make up a new potato head configuration and leave it out for them to find in the AM. You can also maybe play a game where you hide the MPH in different parts of your hotel room each night and the kids can find the surprise in the AM.

Have fun!

Your ideas are great for stuffing the box. I would have never thought of putting things in the feet! Did you buy at WDW or Disneyland?

Thanks for posting the picture of all the pieces you got! I did read a tip on some blog about buying the MPH head at Walmart first and if buying the head at DL/WDW to stuff pieces inside the head...but I think that's the first mention of stuffing things into the feet! btw do you happen to have the link to the thread where you got your tips on how to maximize what you can fit into the box?

I got mine at WDW at the shop in Toon Town at the Magic Kingdom. I have heard that the Once Upon a Toy at Downtown Disney in Florida has a bigger selection. I basically got every accessory and hat available (couldn't fit the Mad Hatter and skipped the Star Wars pieces) in one box. They also didn't have many other "feet"/shoes at the MK.

There is a thread here about MPH. I don't recall seeing the "feet" tip on-line but when I saw them I knew I could cram something inside.

I mostly gained my skills from filling the Lego Pick A Brick cups at the Lego store where I filled a little red "cabinet" with pieces ;)

Everyone says a CM would help you stuff it in if you ask. I love it!

BTW cooniez - are you on the BBB? I recognize your name, I think.

Have fun!

thanks for the link/tips...good stuff! Yes, that's me on BBB! Are you there with the same sn?

Has anyone asked a CM to help them stuff the box? I bet they know some tricks!

We haven't been since February and I foolishly didn't even think of getting Mr. Potato Head for our 2yr old daughter when we were there. Now she's obsessed with her regular one so I am DYING to get her a box of disney parts/accessories.

We are 95% certain we'll be making a quick trip back in October so I wanted to double check if this is still in WDW in FL someplace?

I remember it used to be in the Gift Shop at Pop Century and in a store in DTD. Could someone let me know if it's still around?

Thanks so much!

DTD Toy Store had the best selection. We were there in May. I did not find any at MK nor AK and I think those were the other 2 places they had been. I love all the pieces!
