My Dh and I thought maybe we would try camping at WDW for our up comming trip in April. I already saw the price for a week of camping but did not see any "real pictures for the campsites".

Please share with me and let me know all the positive and negatives about camping in FW.

Thanks :lovestruc

Look up! There's a sticky at the top. Official post a picture of your campsite thread.

There are so many positives. FW has some many things to do, campfire/sing a long/ movie, fishing, boat rentals, tennis courts, pony rides, Hoop de Do da revue, Mickey's Backyard BBQ,swimming, you can watch the fireworks at MK from the beach as well as the electric water pagent, carriage rides, hay rides...........................

I have no negatives about the fort, well except that is hard to book, but other everything is great there, we loved it.

Here's DH the day we arrived, July 7 2008.

This was our site 2 years ago. We liked it although some might find it a little narrow. It was plenty deep though.

Here's our campsite from 2004. I'm pretty sure it was the 800 Loop...it was either 700 or 800.

Just curious...how many days were you guys sitting on the table waiting for him to get the campsite setup? :lmao:

Ha, you're a nut..that was funny!

Here is our site in 1600. The pic in my sig is in Loop 100.

Is it really that hard to book? We're wanting January 2009. Should we already book - regular tent camping site?

If you know what dates you are looking at, it may pay to go on line and check. If nothing is open now, by starting early you will be likely to get what you want by checking back regularly.:thumbsup2

I think we are going to plan a camping trip at FW our next visit. We are going to stay with my 2 sisters and their families in a house we already rented for this up coming April.

From everyones pic, the campsite in FW look great. Now I keep seeing its hard to book a campsite?:confused3
Is this just the sites with cable that are hard to book due to limited site?

Thanks for all the pics!!!! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately it applies to any full hook-up site. While it can be difficult to book a site it's not impossible. You can book a campsite 500 days out but from what I'm hearing lately the last day of your stay must be 500 or less days out instead of just the first. It appears that Disney releases sites in blocks, something like 30 sites every two weeks, but I don't think anyone knows the number. That is why some folks are saying now that there are no sites available for 2009. Some folks look online to see if sites are available then call the CRO to make reservations. I prefer to talk to someone when it comes to booking The Fort. Plenty of folks make reservations for trips at the first possible moment and many of them will cancel as it gets closer to their dates so they get a full refund. Some folks resort to making several reservations just so they can get all their dates. They start out with the first 2 days, then add the last 3 days, then try to get the 6 days in between. You best bet is to call early, like 7am, and often to get your dates.

Yodagirl ....
I see you have one of those Cabela shower tents. Do you use it for showers or just for a changing room?

How do you like it? I've been considering buying one myself.
