Show id with DDE card?

We just received our DDE cards, and our last name is spelled incorrectly. Has anyone had any problems? Are you asked to show photo id when using the card?

We were asked several times, but I don't think a misspelling will be a problem

::MickeyMo During our 11 day vacation in May, we were only asked once...in our food court of all places! We ate at the food court a couple of times as well. It was kind of weird because we were a little surprised that she asked us since this didn't occur until about midway through the trip. She said to always be prepared that we would definitely be asked for id. We never were again. How ironic. ::MinnieMo

Our trip in MArch for 10 days also asked only once.
I would call DDE and see if they can have a letter waiting for you at Epcot or mail you new cards (but I do not think it would be a big deal)
I think they are asking for id a little more frequently because I have heard of some bad behavior by DDE holders(I don't want to start a debate or bost ideas of others).

Last month I was only asked once, at the foodcourt at our resort. I thought that I would have to show ID or AP each time I used it.
The other thing that amazed me was that I had my AP activated on first day at Disney last month. We spent 3 days at the parks, and went to 2 parks per day. My fingers only worked about twice, each time they had to reset it, and that never seemed to do the trick. Never once, did they ask for ID. They asked my name, and how to spell it.
What would prevent me from giving my pass to someone else and they could reset yet again? No, I would not do this, but I thought that the finger thing was supposed to prevent this. My friend that went with me had the same problem with her 5 day pass, her fingers only worked about twice, and they had to keep reseting hers too.........................

Don't worry.

Our temporary letter had our name spelled right, but not our permanent cards. Our last name ends in an "S" and the cards have our last name end in an "F".

We were only asked to show ID once or twice on our trip, and the mispelling was never a problem. I wouldn't worry about the spelling on the cards unless your name is really botched up.

BTW, I called to have the cards fixed and they told me not to worry about it, that the cards I had were fine.

We just got back from WDW 2 weeks ago and they never asked for our photo ID once. We used our DDE cards twice per day for 8 days straight. The first 2 times we used our DDE card, I had my photo ID with the card and each restaurant commented that they didn't need to see any ID. I think it's the strangest thing.

If that happened to me, I would probably just carry my confirmation of payment for the DDE card. That way, if ever questioned, you could just show them you paid for it and when. We have a bag that we always carry with us, so I'd tuck away that little confirmation in a zipper part of our bag and then forget about it unless the situation arose that we needed to prove anything.

Thanks guys, for all the info and suggestions. Just don't want to run into any surprises or glitches while on vacation. Or at least avoid them where we can! :earboy2:
