I gave myself up over there and admitted my addiction. Decided to edit out my story about my obsession since someone posted "scary" after I wrote a little blurb about my Twilight experience. But other than that, I am officially outed! Read all four in about 9 days.

hmmm i dont know if i heard your story or not but it cant be that bad....Ive seen some crazy stuff about peoples addictions..I would love to hear it and I swear I.WILL.NOT.JUDGE.YOU!!

what I want to know is why none of you guys are over at the Twilight thread on the community board...we are twilight fanatics and frankly Im surprised as some of you I know and had no idea you were into Twilight...god Im obsessed...if you ONLY knew....Im counting down the days till the movie...I dont know if the question about all 4 books being in twilight movie was answered but I can tell you that its not...they arent saying that they are doing more but little things the cast says in interviews and such lead alot of us to believe they will do more...however, I guess the issue at hand is how they will do Breaking Dawn and since some of you have not read it yet I will not give off any spoilers but those of you who have, the issue would be Nessie <---highlight to see the word but dont look at it if you havent read it yet.... if you get my drift!! Did any of you go to a BD release party?? I went to one in Vegas and met some Twilightmoms and a couple of DISers...

You're sweet. I had e-mailed my friend who told me to read Twilight, and tried to be funny/sarcastic to tell her that I finally did read it, and was unexpectedly blown away. Here is the e-mail.

I dedicate my story to all those innocent people born with two X chromosomes.

When you first mentioned the book Twilight, it just didn’t sound that appealing to me. How do you explain this book after all? I added my name to the request list (#168 or so!) at the library, and forgot about it.

When my turn came, I checked it out about the same time my hubby was in his second of three weeks in Texas deployed in response to hurricanes Gustav and Ike. I had time to kill, and a missing husband, so all conditions were set for the perfect storm. After getting the kids to bed, I innocently started reading the first chapter, not knowing that my life would never be the same! (Ok – at least for a couple of weeks) Holy Cow! That book needs to come with a warning label on the front! “Caution – starting this book has been shown to dramatically decrease your interest in life outside of its many seductive pages. Readers have been known to forget they have children, stay up to all hours of the night reading, and in some rare cases, forgo showers, teeth brushing and other basic daily necessities in the interest of turning the next page.” Man – for a girl who likes a good love story (and what female doesn’t), this book is like crack! I was a goner. After finishing in two days, I was fortunate that I had bought a paperback version of New Moon at Costco a month prior. Then after that was done, I was a desperate addict in need of a fix. I bought Breaking Dawn at Costco, but alas, they didn’t have Eclipse. Thank God for Target, and I was back in business. The whole series was done in about 9 days, and I was left trying to talk myself back down to reality. (there needs to be a 1-800 number or something). Unfortunately, that didn’t go too well when I found Stephenie Meyer’s on-line version of Midnight Sun, and officially fell off the wagon with a thud.

In time, and with a great deal of personal strength and restraint, I thankfully managed to rejoin the human race, and am proud to say that I am Twilight free for a few weeks. In view of my success in curbing this addiction, I am planning a speaking tour of local high schools.

hmm well the only thing this sounds like to me is how exactly myself and everyone else Ive known has been....so if 1 person thought that was scary then they better stay out of all twilight readers way....im telling you the first book took me 8 hours nonstop reading...I didnt even eat the whole day...when I finally stood up after being done I got dizzy and realized Id had no food...ate and then got in my car and drove like a bat out of he double hockey sticks to B&N and they only had one copy left good god can you even imagine if I had of had to wait?? I would have driven to the next town to get it I swear...and at that time it wasnt in walmart or target...when I started reading New Moon and I got to that pivotal part (Im sure you know which one I am referring to) I started bawling my head off and seriously had to put the book down for several hours for fear of going into convulsing sobs again...every time I find out someone is starting the series I forewarn them to make food ahead of time and do laundry or whatever because once they start their family life goes to the dogs

disneegrl4eva I do belong to Twilightmoms (LOVE superaction friday post, check it out under the twiligt phenom thread if you haven't already) but I haven't been on lately because I needed to give my obsession a break. Ok, well actually, I just traded that addiction for this one (disney planning). But talk to me on Nov 7 and I will be right back on the twilight obsession train.

And I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that SM changes her mind and finishes writing Midnight Sun just for me if for noone else . I am banning myself from reading the 232, or 252 pages just because I think I will go crazy not having the meadow scene and the ballet scene with James from Edward's POV. She has to finish it! I will wait the 5 or 10 years it will take her to realize that she still wants that beautiful finished copy on her bookshelf next to the other 4 Secretly, I am hoping she is actually writing it now and will surprise us with a late spring release. Uh huh, I am all about living in fantasy land. Come join me, it's fun!

It's true; Lynn's the one who got me hooked on them, and even though I'm a Jacob fan, she still says we can be friends.

when I started reading New Moon and I got to that pivotal part (Im sure you know which one I am referring to) I started bawling my head off and seriously had to put the book down for several hours for fear of going into convulsing sobs again...every time I find out someone is starting the series I forewarn them to make food ahead of time and do laundry or whatever because once they start their family life goes to the dogs

I'm enjoying these books, but I'm not obsessing over them. I can put it down to make dinner or tend to my children (unless, of course, I'm at a really intense part.)

But Lynn, I have to tell you, a friend of mine is traveling to Vegas on Tuesday and was looking for a book to read. I gave her Twilight. Another convert for sure! (hee hee hee!)

So exciting to see so many Twilight fans. I'm a HUGE fan as well - have read all the books - and am also counting down the days until the movie release. I've spent WAY too much time on YouTube and MTV.com watching movie footage and behind the scenes footage. I'm REALLY hoping they get this right!!!

I also liked the Host way more than I thought I would. It was a bit long, but so worth it for the end. She really knows how to give a satisfying ending!

I just read Charlaine Harris' Dead Until Dark this week. The new HBO series True Blood is based on it. A very different kind of vampire saga with much more humor and definitely NOT for the under-18 crowd (language, sex scenes are much more graphic than Twilight's). I'm not crazy about the show, but book one in the series was a very good read.

I'm so happy to see that I'm not alone. I resisted these books for so long (Vampires? Really?) I finally decided that I needed to read it at the end of August, just because the book was so cheap. I bought Twilight and my life was never the same again! I should probably mention that I'm doing my "First year" teaching right now (It's my internship, my University is quite extensive with my degree, it's hard to explain and rather confusing but as it stands, I'm teaching, I have my own classroom, it's only until Christmas Break though)

and I started right before school, that was the biggest mistake of my life. I couldn't stop reading, I would make sure I had all of my lessons and marking finished before I came home because I knew I wouldn't get anything done once I got here. It was bad and my students wern't much help ("where are you now? Who's your favorite Edward or Jacob?")

Needless to say I finished all four books in less than three weeks, I have never been the same, I have loaned the books out spreading the word of Twilight and even one of my guy friends is now addicted! I plan on re-reading them so I don't devour them as quickly and can look at all the foreshadowing and little things I missed the first time.

Needless to say, I'm a junky!

aww you poor thing you...group hug but we always welcome twilight junkies..do NOT scowl at your fascination of vampires...do you know that I have ALWAYS been fascinated with them??? I have this tshirt that is pink and on the front it says..."You know how most little girls want to be Princesses?" and on the back it says "Well I kinda wanted to be a Vampire" that is sooooo me...I dont dress goth or think Im a vampire but I do have a set of custom made fangs and I put them in whenever the mood strikes...now thats scary Colorado mom...and I say it with my head held high

I, too, am an addict.

I read all 4 books in 5 days. I didn't sleep, and I didn't really socialize at work those days, either. I ate my lunch in my office so I could spend that hour reading. DH was on his own for meals that week; sorry, DH, Edward won that contest. Haha.

I've tried to read since I finished them a month ago, but I just can't find anything that compares. So, I gave up. I'm just going to let my Edward buzz keep on buzzing until the movie comes out. I will for sure be at a midnight showing!! I so hope that the movie does not disappoint; I've already seen them talk about several major differences online through news clips that I found on YouTube. Here's to hoping!

nope not at all...millions think that every day of their lives...beats reality thats for sure...
