Ordered over 2 grand in plantation shutters. They were just delivered. But I made a mistake on the measurements and none of them fit. Long story short, they issued a full refund. Worst part is, I have to start all over again and wait three months for delivery all over again. What a buffoon I am!
 
If it makes you feel any better, we are in the process of replacing our hurricane shutters. The company who does this for a living measured each window. Then they came back a second time and re-measured. They did phase 1 of the installation last week. One window's shutters was completely missing, and my home office window is not big enough to close. They're supposed to fix those two next week and start the back patio phase (about 40 feet long and we enclose the whole thing).

I say again -- this is a company who does this for a living!
 
We used blinds.com and they were wonderful. For $100 they sent someone out to measure all of the windows and then install them. They sent me to a local company that came out and measured and installed the Plantation shutters in the living, dining, study and master. I was very impressed with their customer service. My favorite part was that the Plantation shutters were actually made in Houston. I they to buy American but buying local was even better.
 
I have been considering using them for blinds.
I thought I knew what I wanted untill I went to the site and saw there are so many kinds.
Just this week we had new hurricane windows installed and the sliding door any day now. They are so nice i cant put these old vertical blinds back.
I was thinking about the zebra blinds in the bedroom and maybe roller shades in the living ?
 

we used them years ago for custom double sided blinds (one part was see through/the other not). we had them measure (only way to get a fit guarantee at that time). good thing we did b/c the person didn't measure at all the points of a few windows and we learned the dry walling was just a smidgen narrower at one point so the blinds didn't fit and they had to remake new ones at their own cost. great customer service.
 
I will say they have a pretty impressive guaranty. But they can save themselves and the customer some trouble by simply adding a pop-up message, based on the customer's selection, to add additional inches to the measurements, if needed. That would have solved the problem for me.
