I've been watching and waiting to see if a gp fd code is released for my dates tomorrow since I would like to switch resorts. Surely someone would have spilled the beans by now? Starting to get doubtful. The only thing keeping me hoping is there was so much hype over today for omdd.

Sometimes I wonder to myself if someone from Disney watches these boards and decides not to release a code until a later date b/c of all the hype over a certain release date..

Now we all have a severe case of paranoia!

It's so funny to stop and think about the Disney suits reading the DIS, and saying, "Oh, no.....those DISers figured out the deal on such and such date....Let's put it off until next week, and really get them all worked up!"

This is what they hope for whenever they release a new deal - anticipation. Boy do they have an amazing marketing department. I'm sure the cm's are only allowed to release so much information ahead of time because they don't even know what the deals are. I work for a major company and we don't know any special deals until they have been released to the public. Once they set a date that is usually it unless something major has happened.

what are your dates? FD last year was released like in the fall of 2010 for the next year, ended and then re-released in the spring sometimes (not sure when exactly though because I was already booked), but in 2010 it wasnt released until May 5 (or a date in early May sometime). There was a TON of speculation that year, these boards were hopping with all sorts of hearsay. So nothing is promised, Disney throws curveballs all the time.

So I got up this morning and checked the res for specials. I called and nothing . I just whish they would drop the dates. I really want to upgrade but I can't without a code or FD.
I am driving my DH nuts our trip is paid for but I want that upgrade. Oh well looks as if we are staying at POR for now.

FD is open for Disney Visa cardholders starting today. 8/25 - 9/29 QSDP for values (excluding AoA) and DDP for mods and deluxes. No code needed, just use a Disney Visa for deposit. Hopefully that means the offer will be a GP offer on Monday.
