Shoulder pain means rain is on the way!

I can almost tell the weather just from my shoulder. Never fails when it acts up rain moves in. Does anyone else have a joint or bone that bothers them with rain or cold temps.

I am a physical therapist. When I went to school, a professor told us that this isn't true. A person can not predict the weather by pain.

However, after 35 years of practice, I don't believe him. Many of my patients have increased pain when bad weather is approaching. I once read that it has to do with the change in barometric pressure.

So, I have not personally experienced it but I believe you. So where are you that it is going to rain?

My Grandma could always tell when it was going to rain because her arthritis really started to bother her. With me, it's my sinuses. Rain is moving in here later today, so I'm sure I'll need to take some Sudafed this afternoon.

My knees. I told my husband last night that a major weather pattern was about to occur. It must be huge, because my wrists are hurting today (okay, that probably has something to do with the knitting this weekend, but shhh!)

My Mom used to tell me when it was going to rain and I'd laugh at her. I don't laugh anymore!

After I was rear ended in an car accident and had to have shoulder surgery, I can predict the rain like a meteorologist!! My orthopedic surgeon told me he DREADS rainy days, because that's when he gets all of the calls about pain! He told me it was the barometric pressure, also. The weight of the air pressing on the nerves or something like that. All I know is it HURTS!!
