Should we try Rainforest Cafe?

Do any of you know if we can split a few meals there and get the volcano dessert. I hate to waste food and I know the kids wont eat much for lunch, they willl be saving room for the volcano!

I don't see why you couldn't. You can order and pay for whatever you wish. Shouldn't be a problem...Enjoy!

we love the rainforest cafe in downtown disney......we go everytime we visit disneyworld.......we love the atomsphere....we were there monday for lunch Jan.21st ...for my birthday......loved the blue crab dip with tortila chips as appetizer....i usually always order the slow roasted roast over mash potatoes with vegetables and a light gravy.....it was a special meal for me and my family....we love it there and our waitress was very nice and took time with our questions even though it was a very busy :goodvibes lunch time there:wizard: ....will return next trip......:cloud9:

My whole family LOVED the Rainforest Cafe! The food was great, and the atmosphere really helped us get into the mood of AK. I'm not sure of what kind of pictures you want, but here's the exterior of the restaurant, above the entrance:

I felt that it was WAY overpriced, and not worth it! We just came back and we went to the one at animal kingdom, had no reservations and pretty much walked in. I had a vegetarian sandwich, which was $12.99 and came with chips with an option to add fries for like $2.99 and my hubby had a hamberger with cheese (add $.59) with chips for $10.99 and my daughter had a grilled cheese for like $7.99. The enviornment is cool. But NOT worth the price!!!

All TS restaurants are overpriced in Disney. I don't think RC is any more crazy priced than anywhere else on property.

So, are both RFC the same on the inside or is one better than another?

Who's been to both? :)

I have been to both and i am not a fan. Pricey, and service not at the Disney level. But that's just me!

They both pretty much look the same at DAK or DTD. We usually purchase a package with dining when we go to WDW, so when we go to RFC my dh and I always split something, the portions are more than plenty. Last time we shared the Lava Nachos and The Chimi Cha-cha. It was good. Like previously stated, RFC is no more pricey than most WDW table service meals.

it is a part of the rainforest Cafe chain, right? The food, at least at the one in CT, is no different than anyother chain food, but the kids loved the atmosphere. My youngest, however, was a bit scared when the noise got really loud!

Sorry, I'm not much help with any info you haven't heard

While the food is the same it can be a little different at some of their locations. For example at the Rainforest in Toronto when you order the Planet Earth Pasta you have a choice of Sausage or Chicken. At the Rainforest in DTD it automatically comes with Sausage and you can also order Chicken inside it for a little bit extra $.

Also at their Toronto location they do not have the Cobb Salad because it was not selling there, however that is one the menu at their Downtown Disney location.

DD likes it. I LOVE the Boma wrap, and the bbq pizza is good (and I'm managing ed for a pizza mag!). We usually hit the one at DTD on the day we fly in for dinner.

Drinks are overpriced and weak, though. Avoid.

Guess it depends on the bartender and the location ... :dance3:

The biggest bar bill I've ever had (excluding weddings) was at a RFC in Niagara Falls when the kids all decided they wanted several souvenier glasses and ordered a bunch of those stupid drinks. Ran me almost $1,000! :dance3:

I have been to the one at the Village @ DLP, DTD @ WDW and DTD @ DL (and also the one at Southcoast Plaza and Grapevine).
I love the theming, and I also love the food. I am SO craving the shrimp pizza we always order when @ DL.

I had the paella on the 1st of November at the one at DTD @ WDW, and it was delicious!
