OK, here goes, we're leaving Saturday for POR.

We have res. for 7 nights at POR, but I also have res. for the last two nights, (Thursday and Friday night) at the Yacht Club.

I have both, because I could not decide if I'd want to stay at POR for the entire week, or spend the last two nights at YC.

The reasoning is this, we will be done with the parks by Thursday night, and we wanted to spend Friday at SAB, and then the evening on the Boardwalk.

But, now I'm afraid that we'll be so settled in and used to our rooms and beds, that we won't want to leave.

Can someone please give some advice?? We're packing very light, and will have the hotel transfer our bags during the day to YC.

Also, does anyone know how extensive the renovations are that are going on at the YC???

Hi! We just returned from a 6 day 5 night stay at the Swan. It was so great being able to stay in just one location, especially for the short duration of our trip. Originally, we had planned to stay 3 nights at the Swan & 2 nights at the WL because the Swan was not available for the 5 nights but 3 days before our departure, there was availability for our last 2 nights so we changed it. We felt so tired after our first 3 days at the parks that we are glad that we didn't have to move although we had dinner at Artist's Point at WL & thought it was a beautiful resort & we'll look forward to a future stay there.

We went into the Yacht & Beach Club while we were there & construction on the Yacht Club seems to be limited to the side facing the parking lot, so if you requested a room on the opposite side of the building, I'm sure that would be fine.

Hope you have a great time! We can't wait to go back!

We've done it both ways - spent the whole week at POR & spent our last 2 nts. @ a deluxe to just enjoy the resort. It's a toss up as to what we enjoyed the most. If you've never been to YC, then I say go for it - SAB can't be beat & the BW is a blast at night! We love getting to SAB right @ 10 am when it's virtually empty - we rent a tube & just enjoy the peace & quiet. My DD likes to get her hair braided at YC's salon on our last day so it's fresh when we get home for all her friends to see, and she loves playing the games at ESPN on the BW. I love watching Illuminations from the BW bridge while eating some yummy dessert I got from one of the BW carts after we strolled & enjoyed the entertainers. Beware: the surrey bikes LOOK fun, but are MURDER on your legs unless you have lots of pedalers! Whatever you decide, have a great time! We'll be returning to POR for our 12th time in a month & can't wait - it's our favorite resort!;)

Hello and you are sooooo lucky to be leaving soon for your trip! Anyway, I would do the split. DH and I did it for the first time this past January and it was like two vacations in one. I agree that for a shorter say (5 or less nights), staying put in one resort is probably the better choice but for 7 nights, I think I'd go ahead and do it. Besides, you would be spending your last two night in an area that has lots of relaxing-type fun - swimming in SAB, strolling the BW, walking into EPCOT for great restaurants in WS, taking a Friendship ride around the lake, etc. You won't have to get near a bus or car to go anywhere for those two days. Just MHO but, WOW, anyway you look at it, you'll be there soon! :teeth: Have a safe and magical trip!

We are doing a split stay in 12 days between Beach Club and POR. I think it will be fine. Don't worry about it.

Here is a tip for others thinking of a split stay. My travel agent says they are not booking split stays anymore because the CM's have so much trouble booking it correctly in the system (and finding the second resort afterwards). I had this problem when trying to confirm our POR part of the stay.

She told me they are booking these as 2 different reservations now because it is much less confusing.
