Should we spend a day at Universal?

My husband and I (married 20-somethings, no kids) are heading down to Orlando in September. We're toying with the idea of spending a day at Universal, but just aren't convinced it's worth the extra money (since we'll already be going to Disney). We're not HUGE rollar-coaster fans (although we do enjoy some of the smaller ones).

I was hoping you guys could give us some insight as to what you think about Universal, if you think we should go, which park to go to, if it's worth the one day admission, etc.

Thanks in advance!
Julie

Universals parks are my favourite, so definately recommend you visiting one, or both!

Universal Studios has more enclosed rides e.g. 3D simulators, regular simulators, indoor thrill rides and shows.

Islands of Adventure have more outdoor rides e.g. rollercoasters (not just big ones), water drops, river rapids, thrill rides.

So it depends on your preference. Otherwise, get the one day two park ticket so that you can pick and choose the best rides from both parks! Personally my fave is Islands of Adventure :)

I'm with Claire-Bear on this one. With rides like Revenge of the Mummy and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey opening soon, Universal has some of the best attractions in Orlando, if not the world. I'd say get a 1-day 2-park ticket so you can hit the attractions that interest you.

Absolutely worth every penny :thumbsup2

US/IOA are the two best parks in Orlando (imho of course)

There`s so much to see and do apart from the big coasters, and we just love the atmosphere in both parks. Universal`s theming is as good if not better than Disney in some places, again, just my opinion :)

Citywalk is one of the best places to be for atmosphere as well as fantastic food :lovestruc

Why not get a 2 park one day ticket and do both, don`t think you`ll regret it.

If I HAD to choose just one...............IOA :thumbsup2

We love Universal and we never ride the big roller coasters. There's still plenty to do and both parks are just as well done as any of the Disney parks. There's certainly more to do than there is at Animal Kingdom, which is not worth the money IMO.
