should we skip tusker house safari breakfast?

I was originally planning to do an early 8am adr for tusker house the morning we go to ak, but not I am thinking about skipping it. I have a 1yr and 3yr old.... i think the night before we will be keeping them out late for fireworks. I heard that ak no longer has a rope drop, so I figured i might be able to let them sleep a little longer in the morning and still get into the park at a decent time. We are planning on doing crt breakfast and disney junior breakfast. However I would like to do a breakfast with donald and friends... opinions please!

We did the safari breakfast last week when AK had a morning EMH.

When we were there, non-breakfast visitors were not allowed past Discovery Island until very close to 8 am, whereas we were allowed all the way into Africa when we arrived around 7:40.

We were able to get some family photos with no one around as well as be one of the first to get a safari FP when the park opened at 8. Meanwhile, DW checked us into breakfast (we had an 8:15 ADR but skipped the photo with Donald and were at the buffet by around 8:05, which we virtually had to ourselves and which gave us plenty of time to get our food before the characters started coming around).

We finished breakfast a few minutes before 9 and were on the safari a few minutes later with our FP. Overall, it was a great way to start our day at AK (but I can understand skipping it if your kids were up late watching fireworks the night before).

Maybe you can make an ADR for a little later. I had a breakfast reservation for Tusker House in 2010 and our reservation was for 10 am. We were able to eat breakfast and still see everything we wanted to see. We will be eating a breakfast at Tusker House again in July and again have made the reservation for 10 am. I have the same concerns you have. I have 3 young kids and a teenager that we are planning to keep out late at Magic Kingdom the night before for EMH. So a later breakfast will work well

No way would I be dragging my kids out of bed at 6:30 for an 8am breakfast if they had been out late the night before at the fireworks.
Can you do a lunch? Or get to AK for opening at 9, do a few rides, then a late breakfast at like 10:30?

I think that's a recipe for disaster, but I'm a big fan of happy kids.

Ditto! For my kids, early bfast after a late night would be awful! We are doing the tusker house bfast at 10:30 instead. We will still have time to ride a couple of things and then have a later meal, but we wont be pressured to get everyone up at 6 or 6:30.

You can book bfast as late as 11 am, and tusker house added a character lunch so that may be a good option too.

Lunch was amazing My DS4 just loved it and he can't wait to go back the characters are great and spent a good amount of time with each child

I would consider a late breakfast or lunch ADR. I think Tusker house a great place to see Donald and the gang.
