Should we request BCV or BWV?

Here's the scenario: We will be doing the 7 day land and sea vacation at the beginning of October. We want to extend our stay to a 10 nighter! We will be travelling with non-dvc'ers, and they want to stay at the dolphin. We already have ressies at SSR for a studio, with full intentions on switching at the 7 month mark. So here's my question: Which resort should we request at the 7 month mark-BCV or BWV? (this is if I have an option if they are not already all booked up because of F& W festival). I have read some no so great info about the room conditions, especially, the pull out couches at BCV, so I'm not sure what to do. When we stayed at the Dolphin in August, DS loved the looks of the water slide at BCV, but then I'm back to the room condition!? My children have become accomozilla's (you know like bridezilla's but in regards to accomodations!) A parking lot view would land this mom in very hot water, as our "view" has become quite important to the accomozillas (DS9, and DD7!):rotfl: We would like to reserve a studio and I would love to save points and get a standard BWV room, as we are bringing grandparents next year and getting a 2 bedroom then. Any input from you experts is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

Tell your kids that they should be thankful for not having to walk to and from school in the snow, up-hill both ways like all of us did as kids.;)

Actually if you get a standard room, you won't be able to let the little accomozillas look outside. All of the standard views are of the parking lot or entrance way. Chances are that you won't get a standard view at 7 months anyway. But you will probably be able to get a preferred view at the BWV which looks out on the pool or canal. That should satisfy everyone.

Try for a boardwalk view, it's great.

Don't tell anyone that I said this, but, if you can get the Beach Club, go there. It is still swimming weather and for a 9 and 7 year old, Stormalong Bay beats the vomiting clown by a mile. The Beach Club is newer, so the rooms can't possibly be as worn as some of the posters have claimed.
And since you are going to be doing the Boardwalk the next time out, try for the Beach Club. It really is all about the pool for the kids, as you will still have access to everything else the Boardwalk has to offer in the evening.

BCV was what MS recommended when I had to decide. They said, the pool is one of the best! And we LOVED it, even at 4:00 in the afternoon!

I'd say exactly the opposite, with a seven and nine year old, only use SAB if you bring your own box of haircolor - you'll need it at that pool.

We LOVE the BCV,but 2 things to consider, you will not be able to relax, unless your kids are very strong swimmers, with kids in the pool. It is more like a complex, and once they get in will be out of site unless they are content to splash around in a small area. Also, the entrance to the slide is located across the outside main walkway (that leads all around the boardwalk and to EPCOT) Someone will have to escort them to the slide entrance and run back and watch them come down. (Again, unless you are comfortable with them being out of site for several minutes) Also, there is a chance you will get a very poor view at BCV,(last month we were very close to a busy highway with just one thin tree in between).Like I said, the BCV is great for so many reasons but the views are not spectacular and the pool is best for older kids and toddlers who are content to play in the sand.(just my opinion of course:) )

I'd say to put in requests for both and take whatever becomes available. As you already mentioned, it's F&W time...but it's also MNSSHP and the last week DDP is available to the people that have already booked it (as well as those waiting to book if it is offered to the general public). Free DDP doesn't effect DVC members per say, but it will bring a lot more people into the parks.
