Should we rent points NOW for Christmas Trip?

We were/are trying to buy into DVC, but it is a slow process as you all know. Do you think it would be wise to just rent the 60 points we need for our December 17-22 nights, for BCV? I was hoping to just use our own points, but since that might not happen at all, I don't want to miss out on staying at Beach Club with all the waiting.

Is it possible to check to see if a Studio is even still available for our dates?

If you pulled the trigger on the buy in you should have the points right away. But if you don't have the points you should probably look for a BCV owner that is renting points. December is beyond the 7 month window so you would not be able to get point from anybody at this time. Also X-mas, from what I here is a busy time for DVC.

If you are certain of your dates, I would go ahead and rent from a BCV owner right now. You must rent from a BCV owner, because we are still in the 11-7 month booking window for folks who have BCV as their home resort. The problem with waiting, is that you may find no availability if you wait.

If I were you and wanted BCV for that timeframe, I would definitely rent the points now if you can find someone with points and availability for those dates. If your purchase goes through and you get your own points , then you can rent those out to cover your costs, or use them to plan another vacation! Good luck!
