Should we really wear the wedding hats?

thanks so much for all of the advice! We're certainly not expecting anything extra, but we certainly won't say no to it either. However, I did explain some of the perks to the future hubby, and now he's on board with the hats!

I'll take my wins however I can get them. :jumping1:

melmel,

The hats you made are just adorable. I love the idea of the baseball cap. When we do our vr in 2008, I think DH would be more agreeable about a baseball cap than the tophat!

Congrats everyone on the upcoming weddings!

I love the baseball caps idea! I'v'e been looking forward to wearing the wedding ears since I thought about getting married at Disney. I just think they are too cute!!

We will be wearing the wedding ears on our next trip celebrating 20 great years of marriage!!!!!!!!!!! I like the ball caps too. :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Everyone wants to see pics of your wedding rings. I would like to see a pic of the jolly ole pirate and his hat.

We wore our ears last week. The mayor found us walking into the bakery and stopped us. Announced it to the crowd and gave us pins. We also had fun seeing the other couples. We got hundreds of congrats and good lucks. We told our "disney wedding story" so many times.

Also, tell all your servers its your honeymoon. We got a few dessert and sodas.

The attention was the best...it was our 15 minutes of fame.

We wore our ears and the pins all week and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I had the headband instead of the hat and it was perfect, I only got a headache from it once. Dennis wore his hat a couple of times but it was really to small for him so it mainly stayed in the room, but he did keep his button on.

The congratulations we got from everyone was great. It was so much fun to talk about our wedding and see the looks of awe when we said we got married at Disney. It helped add a lot of Disney Magic to our wedding/honeymoon.

It was fun saying congratulations to other couples we saw who had ears on too. :)

We're at the parks on a regular basis. And, we did get married there. We see alot of wedding hats. We were givin ours at our engagement party from our guests. We had just came home the day before from DW and the couple we brought with us bought them for us. They aren't easy to keep on depending on which ones you get. I had the regular Mickey ears ones and I needed lots bobby pins. Speaking of your wedding ring, my husband bought me a gold floating Mickey charm as a gift 2 years ago. It's an outline of the Mickey head that's hallow inside. I didn't like how it hung so I had two loops put on the ears so it hung straight. For my wedding gift, he took my charm and added a 2 1/2 carrot diamond in the main circle that would be Mickeys face. I love it so much. It's a one of a kind. I don't understand why they don't sell necklaces like it? I get compliments on it all the time. I would like to see your ring also. It's cool having a one of a kind piece.

We ended up making our own hats in the end. We took the Bride/Groom baseball caps from David's...used another set of ears as a template...and created our own ears to wear while there!

Great idea - I didn't even think of that. The hat won't fit on my FI head but maybe I could add the ears to a groom hat like you suggested.

Definately wear the hats. Was just in Disneyland in June on my honeymoon before heading off to Hawaii and it is so much fun to have people coming up to you and congratulating you. Also be prepared for people wanting to take your pictures as well. We didn't receive any perks from disney and really weren't expecting any. Although I did have a lot of fun showing cast members my mickey mouse customized wedding ring.

The one thing that was annoying is that disneyland was completely sold out of the bride ears and we were constantly bombarded with questions as to where we had bought ours (by the way the answer was WDW when we got engaged) I wish I would have had some extras with me I could have made a fortune selling them and perhaps paid the wedding off completely LOL

Bumpin' this! We wanna see the rings :)

I think the hats are a great idea. The pins too! I made t-shirts for the groom and I to wear.
