Just wondering, should we park the car ourselves (and how difficult or how much of a hassle is that) or should we use the valet at the Yacht Club. Costs?

Use the Valet. The self parking lots are a pretty far walk across a canal. Cost is $6.00/day, plus tips.

I second Poly Pal, it is worth every cent to pay and give a tip. then you can use it again and again no matter what resort you visit, just make sure you have your tag that is on your rear mirrow and it will cost nothing but the tip. AKL is a hike, BWI, a hike, YC a hike, BC a hike, Poly and hike, never tried the CS but I think you get the hint, get it, you won't be sorry.:D

We're leaving from yacht Club marina for an illuminations cruise. We'll probably eat there first.
Is the marina nearer to the Beach club or is it the same parking lot?

Will we be OK to park there? If valet parking is better what's the procedure - do we drive to a special area, ask at the gate or what?
Do we pay when we park or when we collect? When and how much do we tip?

Sorry for so many questions but the thought of getting from yacht club to all stars at night by bus is a bit off putting.

To valet park you go to the front door and they will come up to you or you can ask the guys. they are always around. As far as tipping, I give the guy $2,00 when my car is picked up, not both takeing it to the valet lot. I am not sure this is the right way but it always works for me. As far as what is closer, BC or YC I stayed at the YC and it was close to the marina.:D

The AKL, WL, and Polynesian both have close self parking lots, so if you visit either of those they are easy to self park at. The rest of the deluxes I'd use valet.

The charge is $6 per day, no tax is added to that amount. Many people have different views on tipping, we personally give $2 when they take or bring around the car. The way I see it, both people are providing a service, so both should get rewarded. :)
