Should we just forget about going to MK on Christmas Day?

OK, I booked a Disney cruise for us 12/17-24/05 and since DH's birthday is Christmas Day, I thought that it would be really neat for us to celebrate at MK. Now everyone is telling us that it is a total madhouse at WDW that week. :( Should I just forget that plan and do a couple days at the park before the cruise? I am thinking that we could get the MVMCP tickets for one night since we were too tired to stay on when we were there from 8 am the day we went last month. TIA.

but I don't think my experience would be a good measure, as it was raining cats and dogs and cold, so many, many people left................I can tell you there were so many people pouring out of the MK when we were, we were about 50 people back in line for our WL boat, and it took us an hour before we got back there................there were sooooo many more behind us! When we went back after 5, it didn't seem so crowded, and then we saw Spectro and had dinner, got done after 10.........and went to Fantasyland and Toontown.........they were practically deserted.

From what I hear, Christmas day is one of the busiest days at MK. They usually close the doors by 9am full to capacity. However, they also reopen and reclose throughout the day from what people said this year. It will be packed, but if you are prepared for that, you could still have fun. It's just up to you and what you feel like doing. On the other hand, other parks are not always too bad on this day. When we went a couple years ago, MGM was quite dead on Christmas day.

I would say definately GO on Christmas day!!! We went this year on Christmas too and yes - it POURED down rain. I'm sure I was with Paigevz on the way out of the park about 1pm or so. It was the longest bus line back to POP during our whole 12/23 - 1/1 trip - even counting NYE after fireworks at MK!!! I haven't been able to master the picture posting yet but if you go to this address:

you should see a picture I took from the train platform on the way out. We have been on Christmas Day in the past and I always enjoy it - rain, cold and all. Just know that it will be CROWDED and to take it slow and easy. Ride what you can, do some fast passes, people watch, eat, shop and just enjoy the day. Have a great time!

You can certainly go on Christmas Day, just go with the understanding that you're walking into MK on the #1 busiest day of the year.
