Should we hop?

Hi. I'm new to the boards - we just put a 'courtesy 10 day hold' on a trip 12/6 to 12/11.

It will be me, DH, my parents (73 and 69) and our 4 yo triplets.

Do you recommend hopper passes for the trip?

Seems like we'd have to really plan out everything if we didn't hop, but it is cheaper.

Opinions? Thanks, Mari

We always get the hopper tickets, but the time of year you are going and with your family make up you probably will not need them. Only thing is once you chose a park for that day it will be the park you will have to stay with, so if it is busy at the park no hopping over to another one. Also remember if you are on the dining plan and plan to eat in the parks, you will have to eat in the park you visit that day. It can be done and as I said with the family makeup you probably will not need the hopper tickets:goodvibes

We don't hop. Usually we pick a park for the day, and when done with that we go do something else like swimming or something. If I wasn't sure what I would do is not buy the hopper passes, and if I changed my mind once there, I'd pay the difference to upgrade the ticket. That way you're not out the money unless you actually decide to do it. I think you can upgrade as long as it's within the first 14 days, but they never allow you to down grade, so if you buy it but don't use it you can't get a refund.

With 4 year old triplets? I wouldn't recommend it. I don't like to hop anyways, unless it's necessary to see a show at the end of the day that we otherwise wouldn't get to see due to time constraints----I get so worn out hopping parks, and I'm an adult, I can't imagine doing it with 4 year old triplets.

Have a great time!!

We always get the hopper. It keeps us from being tied down to one park. If the kids get tired of one we just hop over to one they enjoy more. It saves a lot of headaches.

We like mixing it up and having the MAJOR convenience of being able to go anywhere we desire. We often do a seperate park in the afternoon than we visited in the morning. If the weather turns bad a few of the night shows will cancel, but you can go to another park if this happens and not ruin your planning. Park hopping is not favoured by everyone, but we enjoy the freedom it allows us.

IMHO - I would do the park hopper passes. With your children being 4 - Epcot, MGM and AK may only be 1/2 day parks to them. Those parks tend to have less rides for their age and height. If it were me, I would want to be able to do another park in the afternoon/evening on those days. Also - if you do a park in the morning and then go back for a nap, to rest or swim, you may not always want to go back to the park you started with that morning...so I think park hoppers are a good thing.
